England might want to target Shafali Verma with spin - she averages 16 against spin and 40 against seam. In the last two years, that average against spin is 10.

These two will have faced each other a lot in the nets from their time together at Southern Brave.

  3. Ind 49-0published at 5 overs

    Verma 19, Mandhana 28

The boundaries keep on coming in Freya Kemp's first over, with both Mandhana and Verma finding the ropes.

Kemp was stunning with the bat earlier, but with the ball she's been dispatched for 19 off six.

Smriti Mandhana times the ball so well. She never looks hurried.

It's been a nightmare start with the ball for Freya Kemp but some great batting from Smriti Mandhana.

And the no ball is smashed by Mandhana through cow corner for four.

  7. Ind 35-0published at 4.1 overs

    Target 143

England go back to pace with Freya Kemp into the attack.

But her short ball is dispatched for four by Mandhana first up. And it's a no ball too. Not great.

  8. Ind 30-0published at 4 overs

    Verma 14, Mandhana 15

Shefali Verma is doing the damage, getting down to slog-sweep for four.

I don't think 143 is going to be enough at this rate.

  9. Ind 26-0published at 3.3 overs

    Target 143

Oooh close one. Mandhana pulls Smith behind backward point where Freya Davies nearly catches the opener with a leap to her left.

    Inches in it. Four runs.

I think the second half of this game will be a good test of Amy Jones' captaincy. It's one thing captaining in the first ininngs but it's another when you're defending a total and juggling your bowlers. It's set up nicely.

England turn to spin with Bryony Smith.

India will think these two can build a platform and then they can accelerate. This India team bat deep too.

  13. Ind 19-0published at 3 overs

    Target 143

It's India and Verma's over as the opener smashes another ball over the top for four.

The visitors are racing away. England could do with a wicket.

That is good intent from Shafali Verma - attacking the first ball of the over. Lauren Bell just swung the ball into the middle of Verma's bat.

  15. Ind 15-0published at 2.2 overs

    Target 143

India are in the groove now as Lauren Bell continues. First ball Verma launches the bowler over the top for four.

But England stem the flow next ball, as Sophia Dunkley makes an excellent diving stop in the covers to save a boundary.

  16. Ind 11-0published at 2 overs

    Target 143

Shot! Davies bowls on the pads but Smriti Mandhana is too good on the swivel, pulling one around the corner for four.

India have started steady but the odd boundary is releasing the pressure.

And what a 50 it was. Here are two of the best from teenager Kemp.

Freya Davies is bowling the next over by the way.

Today is the first time in women's T20 international cricket that a number seven has reached 50 (Freya Kemp).

  19. Ind 6-0published at 1 over

    Verma 1, Mandhana 4

All it takes is one loose delivery and Smriti Mandhana capitalises.

The India opener steps down the pitch and plays a wristy shot through the covers for four.

You feel Mandhana could be key for the visitors tonight.

Smriti Mandhana is somebody you need to bowl your best ball to - bowl a heavy length at the top of the stumps - and hold your nerve. She likes to hit over the top.
