That's just about your lot for this evening's live text.

Pakistan are in pole position with two matches left to play. We'll have live text commentaries of them on Friday and Sunday at 15:30 BST.

"A poor start with the bat cost England again in a match they looked in control of at the halfway stage," is the verdict of my colleague Tom Mallows.

You can read his report here...

Should you wish to browse the scorecard from the game you can do so at your leisure here...

Haris: Shadab definitely adds a different dimension to this Pakistani team! Economical with the ball and occasionally the surprise package with the bat.

  3. 'We feel we are a better team than that'published at 19:37 British Summer Time 28 September 2022

England captain Moeen Ali: "Very, very, good game. Obviously disappointed we didn't chase the runs. We feel we are a better team than that. We got stranded with their spinners and couldn't get going."

On Mark Wood: "He was amazing. On a slow wicket he bowled fast. He is massive for our team. He gets the big wickets. Someone with bit of pace can make batters do silly things."

Respect to Pakistan but still...two games in a row England have somehow managed to lose. Could and should be series victory at 4-1. Hope they are learning lessons about some of their players....

James Gulleford: The difference today was Chris Woakes poor bowling at the end. Got smacked for six before finally getting the last wicket. That six cost England the game!

In among all that excitement at the end, Moeen Ali made a half-century off 35 balls.

That last ball was in the slot. It shows you how difficult it was to start on that pitch.

    Pakistan bowled exceptionally well.

    Great game.

  11. champagne moment

Pakistan win by six runspublished at 20 overs

David Willey has a big swing straight but is unable to quite get enough on it to force a super over. Well bowled Aamer Jamal, who showed some bottle on debut.

Jamal's execution has been pretty good.

  13. Eng 139-7published at 19.5 overs

Just a single, and maths dictate Moeen Ali has to take it.

David Willey is on strike to face the final ball of the match. A six will tie the scores and we'll have a super over.

    Dot ball.

That is why Moeen didn't take the one.

    Target 146

Boooooom! The man on the PA system attempts to whip up the crowd but Moeen Ali marmalises Aamer Jamal by whacking a length ball for six back over his head.

    91 metres.

  18. Eng 132-7published at 19.2 overs

Wide. He'll have to bowl it again.

Moeen Ali has had a good look at Aamer Jamal for three balls. He needs to find the boundary now.

It is the right move. If anyone is going to do this now it is Moeen.

  20. Eng 131-7published at 19.2 overs

Full and wide from Aamer Jamal but Moeen Ali is not able to strike it cleanly. He sends David Willey back rather than take the single.
