A little fortuitous for Dawid Malan as he edges the first ball of Shadab Khan's second over for four through third.
Malan and Harry Brook happy to poke and prod the next three balls into the gaps.

Dawid Malan has not found his timing at all.

Brilliant, brilliant over. There were some slower balls, quicker balls, some wide outside off stump. It was really clever bowling.
Wise words, Alex. Wickets in hand will be key here.
Harry Brook and Dawid Malan find it tough to get Iftikhar Ahmed away with just two singles from his over.

Brook just has to look to build a partnership. It still should be fairly simple but after the last game you never know.
Shadab Khan hustles through an over of leg spin. Three runs off the over, with Harry Brook picking up two of them.

Shan Masood has a bit of Daniel Ricciardo about him.
Dawid Malan is fairly cautious to Haris Rauf before opening up to pick up 10 off the over.
He picks up a couple with a pull before a beautiful on drive for four off Rauf's penultimate delivery. Malan follows it up with a more risky drive in the point region which also goes for four.
Harry Brook is the new England batter, by the way.

It was not the best ball again if we're honest but Wasim had his protection in the right place.
Duckett c Shan Masood b Mohammad Wasim 10 (Eng 31-3)
A wide to finish the over from Mohammad Wasim...and from the extra ball Pakistan profit.
Ben Duckett throws his hands a little at a delivery from Mohammad Wasim and he's through shot a little. The ball comes off the edge and flies down to third where a gleeful Shan Masood gobbles up the catch.
Mohammad Wasim is sweating buckets as he attempts to stifle England's batters with two dot balls.
Dawid Malan gets impatient and swishes the willow at his third ball. He exchanges words with the bowler.
Next delivery and the Pakistan seamer flummoxes Malan with a slower ball.
Fine bowling.

Rich: Phil Salt just isn’t good enough. Been very lucky to get where he is.
Oh Ben Duckett, that is classy.
The England batter is economical with his movement, keeps his eye on the ball and late cuts Haris Rauf's fifth ball to the boundary all along the carpet through point.

That is just the ball you want first ball - a half-volley.
Ben Duckett is the new batter and the left-hander is off the mark by leaning into half-volley from Haris Rauf and the ball races away to the boundary for four. That'll do.

The pressure was building on Salt and he had not had much of the strike.

If Pakistan can be disciplined with the ball they can make this hard work for England.
A brisk over from Mohammad Nawaz, and six runs from it for England.
The pick of them from Nawaz's fifth ball which is calmly, and confidently, stroked through the covers by Dawid Malan.
