After England bashed 158 runs in the first session, that second period was a more sedate affair.

England are clearly trying to stretch out their innings so their declaration and subsequent new-ball spell comes under the floodlights.

I reckon the lights will start to take hold around 07:00 GMT so we'll likely see England bat on after the dinner break.

    Thanks Sam.

    Still with us out there?

Time for a change as we prepare for what should be another fascinating session. Given what we've seen so far in this match, I think it's fairly safe to assume it will be.

Anyway, to take you through it all, it's over to Matthew Henry.

Careful, Jon. I'm not sure how much of a clue that is but, you know, spoilers etc...

Just completed a well known internet word puzzle this morning - wonder if the setter is an England cricket fan???

  7. India lose their fourth wicketpublished at 05:36 Greenwich Mean Time 18 February 2023

Australia are out of reviews already but it doesn't seem to be troubling them in Delhi.

Nathan Lyon has taken his fourth wicket, Shreyas Iyer well caught by Peter Handscomb, and India are wobbling at 68-4.

The hosts are still 195 in arrears but have Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja at the crease on day two of the second Test.

Charlotte Swift: Only 112 runs in this session. England are losing their touch.

  9. Postpublished at 05:30 Greenwich Mean Time 18 February 2023

It would already be a record run-chase for New Zealand but with so long left in the game and no real demons in the pitch, how they get on under the lights tonight could go a long way to deciding the outcome.

    Sir Alastair Cook
Former England captain on BT Sport

The way Ben Foakes came in ahead of Ben Stokes probably was a tactical thing to buy England some time. They have still scored over 100 runs in the session.

Wagner bangs the ball in short again and Robinson is waiting for it. He gives himself room and slaps it through the vacant mid-off region for four.

A single follows before Leach sees out the over. That is dinner. A very good session for England.

Ben Foakes played a good hand, Ben Stokes chipped in as well and Robinson is still going on 30.

  13. Eng 344-8published at 68 overs

    Robinson 25, Leach 2

Robinson is managing to take a single from every over with a minimum of fuss.

Leach isn't finding it so easy and is beaten by a ripper from Bracewell that grips and turns to beat the bat.

Time for one more over before the interval. We may get more if there is a wicket.

So nearly a wicket for Wagner in his first over back.

He pins Leach with a bouncer, the ball flicks his glove before thumping into his chest and loops up into the off side.

Tim Southee is under the lid but is slightly too deep and can't get there to take the catch, despite a desperate dive.

After going for 104 from his first 11 overs, Neil Wagner is back with a chance to improve his figures against the England lower order.

  16. Eng 342-8published at 66 overs

Comedy cricket for a moment. A horrible, slow full toss on the pads from Bracewell, an awful miscue from Robinson and the ball just loops over the fielder at mid-wicket.

A single and a chance for everyone involved to think about what they've just done.

  17. Eng 341-8published at 65 overs

Leach is away with a clip off his pads for two. England are just ticking the scoreboard over now.

There's a game bubbling in Delhi...

Amid some dodgy reviewing from Australia, Nathan Lyon has taken three wickets in quick succession to leave India 54-3 on day two of the second Test.

They are replying to the tourists' 263 on day one.

Lyon has dismissed KL Rahul and Cheteshwar Pujara lbw and bowled Rohit Sharma.

    Lead by 357

England's lead now is such that it does feel like finding the perfect time to put New Zealand back in to bat has become as much of a priority as adding to their score.

Leach is still yet to get off the mark despite attempting another big switch hit.

  20. Eng 337-8published at 63 overs

    Lead by 356

One from Tickner's latest. It's been another good spell from the New Zealand debutant.

Less than 20 minutes until the dinner break and 40 minutes for the sun to set and bring the floodlights into play.
