My most treasured memory has to be England winning the ODI World Cup at Lord's. I was in a hotel with my family, and we were very late to dinner, having stayed watching in our rooms for the conclusion!

Australia turn to Mitchell Marsh, and his first over concedes just three.

Isn't it mad how quickly we've just accepted 55-0 from 10 overs as being completely normal?

My father turned 90 earlier this year and is a lifelong cricket fan. His most treasured cricketing memory was from 1948 when he was a schoolboy and lived in Hove. The Australian team played an Ashes warm-up match at Hove and he went along after school and saw Donald Bradman play (and score a century). I took him to an ODI against Australia at The Oval a few years ago and he was very pleased to regale the Australians sitting near us with this tale!

    First of the day!

It's not the most convincing pull shot from Duckett, mainly because of his height that he has to reach about a foot above his head.

Still, it sails into the stands and England bring up their fifty in nine overs!

It has been a bit tough for Pat Cummins, he is having to come on and save the innings with the ball.

He thinks his quick mates will get a few early wickets but within three or four overs he is warming up and bowling.

He did bowl beautifully in the first innings. There is still a bit of life in this pitch.

Better from Australia, who seem to have figured out that bowling straight is actually quite a useful tactic.

    Who knew?

Oh, and Zak Crawley almost chips the last ball of the over to cover, just to keep us all on our toes.

Did Broad's bail switching lead to Labuschagne wicket?

If a bowler switched the bails like Stuart Broad did to Marnus Labuschagne when I was batting I would have just laughed and had a friendly conversation.

I've seen the wicketkeepers do it for a bit of fun and bowlers do it at the end of an over, but I've never seen it quite so obvious.

The question is - how early will Broad do it in Labuschagne's second innings?

  13. Eng 41-0published at 6 overs

The scoreline and run rate may lead you to thinking that England have been playing with a fair degree of risk.

They genuinely haven't - they've just put the bad ball away. And there have been lots of them.

A tidy over from Hazlewood in response though, conceding just the single.

    I don't get it.

    The respite doesn't last long.

Mitchell Starc is quickly hurried out of the attack and replaced by Cummins - but his second ball is treated in exactly the same manner by Duckett, clipped to square leg for yet another four!

England are obviously batting well but it has been pretty dire from Australia's bowlers.

Getting the autograph of Richard Hadlee at Broughty Ferry, Dundee in 1973 when I was aged 10. My pen ran out of ink at the key moment so he thoughtfully heavily indented his signature with the dry nib so I could fill it in later. Forever my cricketing hero…
