A powerful slog sweep finds the fence, before he launches Parkinson back over his head for a mighty six.

Malan made 95 not out the other night as Yorkshire beat Notts - he will want to go big again here.

Luke Wood switches ends, but the England international continues to go the distance.

Dawid Malan flicks a slightly leg-side delivery over backward square-leg for the first six of the evening, before guiding one down to third-man for four more.

A big swing and a miss ends the over, but the hosts are going at nearly 12-an-over early on.

Liam Livingstone brings himself into the attack in an attempt to stem the flow of runs, but sees his first ball cut away by Adam Lyth, cut away for four.

The Lancashire skipper recovers well though, going for just two runs from the next five deliveries.

Tom Bailey opens up from the Football Stand end, and the runs continue to flow for Yorkshire's openers, who are being roared on by a typically boisterous home crowd.

Dawid Malan helps himself to two fours through midwicket. 10 off the over - it looks a belting pitch.

There's a hint of early swing for Luke Wood, but that doesn't bother Adam Lyth in the slightest.

A leg-side wide gets the hosts off the mark, before four successive fours fly to the fence off the middle of Lyth's bat.

There are two other games tonight, one of which is already under way.

Derbyshire are 52-2 after six overs against East Midlands rivals Leicestershire with Tom Wood and Wayne Madsen helping the Falcons recover from 22-2.

At 19:00 Sussex host Essex. The Sharks have only played twice so far and have won one and lost one.

Essex have played just once after entertaining Ireland in a first-class match.

That was a victory over Gloucestershire, so both sides looking to get stuck into their campaigns.

Lancashire by complete contrast won their opening three matches.

But the run ended with an almighty bump on Monday as they were shot out for only 98 at Edgbaston against Birmingham Bears and lost with five full overs to spare.

They start the night third in the North Group and nicely placed.

Tuesday was the day when Yorkshire finally broke a winless streak that stretched back to 21 August last year.

And it was a fine scalp too with victory against Notts at Trent Bridge by eight runs.

Can that be the turning point for the White Rose?

It was a badly-needed victory too because they had opened the tournament with three defeats and are now playing catch-up to try and reach the quarter-finals.
