A single off the second ball.

Max Holden then makes room and lofts a lovely shot to the cover boundary.

They'll smash their own record Blast chase of 227-4 made at Somerset in 2019 if they get there.

  7. Postpublished at 14 overs

    Surrey 252-7 v Middlesex 189-2

Maybe the pressure is getting to Surrey as Sam Curran starts with a wide.

Then Ryan Higgins gets one fine and down to the boundary. He then clears the ropes with a big legside heave.

    11 off two balls.

Make that 15 off three as Higgins clubs another four.

And 19 from four as he squirts one past the fielder at point.

Only one single from the last two balls and it's 20 off the over.

    64 required off 36 balls.

  8. North Group updatepublished at 21:05 British Summer Time 22 June 2023

    Yorkshire 130-5 v Birmingham 180-7

Yorkshire Vikings certainly haven't given this up yet at Headingley.

Jordan Thompson and Matt Revis have put on 43 from 28 balls and their side are still just about within touching distance at 130-5 from 16 overs.

Another 51 needed off 24 balls - or Birmingham Bears will pocket the win and stay top of the table.

  9. Postpublished at 13 overs

    Surrey 252-7 v Middlesex 170-2

Max Holden clubs a four off Sunil Narine's first ball - good start.

And a six off the second is even better.

But the West Indies veteran uses his experience off the next three balls until Holden goes for a big swing and gets a crucial four off the last delivery.

16 off the over. 84 runs needed off seven overs.

  10. 150 runs

    Surrey 252-7 v Middlesex 153-2

    Breaking

Sussex Sharks (141-3) beat Gloucestershire (140) by seven wickets

A comfortable win for Sussex Sharks, with Shadab Khan smashing 28 not out from 14 balls to see them with 6.4 overs unused.

It may not be enough to keep the Sharks in contention for the quarter-finals - and leaves Gloucestershire's hopes looking extremely remote too.

Joe Denly is doing his best to spearhead a successful chase for Kent Spitfires at Chelmsford.

Chris Jordan claims the big wicket!

Stephen Eskinazi goes for another big legside shot, doesn't get all of it and is well caught at deep fine leg.

Excellent knock by the Middlesex skipper off only 39 balls, but does that end his side's chances of this unlikely chase?

  14. Postpublished at 11 overs

    Surrey 252-7 v Middlesex 138-1

Despite losing all 10 T20 Blast games this season, Middlesex have managed two 200+ scores.

Harrison Ward belted 51 from 27 balls, although he's just become Tom Smith's second victim of the evening. The Sharks are 95-2 in the ninth over, needing another 46 to win.

At Chelmsford, Tawanda Muyeye and Daniel Bell-Drummond have taken Kent Spitfires to 20-0 in pursuit of Essex's 184.
