  1. Postpublished at 8 overs

    Scotland 48-2 v Denmark

A fumble at square leg concedes an unlikely boundary, that allows Berrington some confidence. Two balls later, he edges for another. You feel for the bowler, Saud Munir.

    Eleven from the over. Better.

  2. Denmark make better startpublished at 7 overs

    Scotland 37-2 v Denmark

Berrington almost goes first ball as Lægsgaard gets a sharp bounce off the wicket, skidding past the off-stump. A let-off.

Three off the over. This is a dog-fight for Scotland - they've lost their two big-hitters at the top.

  3. wicket

WICKET Munsey c&b Lægsgaard 12published at 6.1 overs

    Scotland 34-2 v Denmark

Lægsgaard strikes again! What an impact he's made!

George Munsey misreads the pace and ends up just chipping it back gently to the enormous Dane. It was a tortured stay at the crease for Munsey - he couldn't get going at all.

Scotland's captain Richie Berrington joins McMullen.

  4. Postpublished at 6 overs

    Scotland 34-1 v Denmark

Surya Anand continues from the pavilion end. It's another awkward over, no boundaries in it as Scotland continue to stumble out of the blocks.

  5. Postpublished at 5 overs

    Scotland 28-1 v Denmark

A wicket and two runs from the over. Not a bad start from Denmark's most dangerous bowler - Nicolaj Lægsgaard, the left-arm wrist spinner.

Scotland will want to up the run rate significantly - they only have another 13 overs.

  6. wicket

WICKET Hairs lbw b Lægsgaard 17published at 4.1 overs

    Scotland 26-1 v Denmark

First ball of Nicolaj Lægsgaard's spell and Hairs is gone.

He played around it, trying to sweep it across the line - a classic Hairs shot. But you live by the sword, you die by the sword. It strikes him just above the ankle, front of the pad.

Welcome Brandon McMullen to the crease.

  7. Postpublished at 4 overs

    Scotland 26-0 v Denmark

Surya Anand has pinned Munsey back. It's awkward bowling and it takes until the fifth ball of the over for Scotland's record-breaker to take a few lengths down the pitch, and slap it away - backhanded - for a four.

The final ball beats the inner ring and bounces harmlessly in that soggy outfield.

  8. 6 runs

Hairs bangs Scotland into lifepublished at 3 overs

    Scotland 20-0 v Denmark

Saif Ahmad strikes Oli Hairs on the pad - nothing from the umpire. Scotland's opener responds with back-to-back sixes, both down on one knee, sweeping it over the boundary.

His third shot isn't as clean a connection but it's still a four. This is more like it.

  9. Slow start from Scotland...published at 2 overs

    Scotland 2-0 v Denmark

Oli Hairs gets Scotland off the mark with a quick single. George Munsey is struggling to get away and the Danes are very loud in the field. A single to end the over.

This is the polar opposite of Scotland's previous performances.

  10. Maiden over!published at 1 over

    Scotland 0-0 v Denmark

George Munsey attempts the reverse.. it loops up into the hands of the wicket-keeper Hashmi. Denmark appeal... but the umpire keeps his hands in his pocket.

Did it just hit the gloves? Munsey was unmoved and he stays at the crease.

It's been a good start from Saif Ahmad - a maiden over. You don't get many of them in T20.

  11. Splash down!published at 0.1 overs

    Scotland 0-0 v Denmark

In Scotland, we call this kind of weather ‘dreich’. A fantastic Scottish word - it means dreary and bleak.

I’m no weatherman, but I’d be surprised if both sides get the full 18 overs. It’s chucking it down just a few hundred yards to the north.

Scotland will bat first. It's the usual suspects - Oli Hairs and George Munsey. Who can score the ton today?

The first ball is defended away...

  12. Ireland qualify!published at 11:27 British Summer Time 27 July 2023

It’s now how they’d have wanted to do it - but Ireland have qualified for the World Cup!

Their match against Germany at Goldenacre was called off nice and early - meaning they cannot be caught by any of the teams below them.

Still that top spot to play for against Scotland tomorrow though - don’t miss it.

Elsewhere, there will be a 12:00 pitch inspection ahead of Italy v Austria.

  13. Munsey's record-breaking knockpublished at 11:25 British Summer Time 27 July 2023

    Scotland v Denmark (11:30)

In case you missed it - George Munsey smashed the record for Scotland’s highest ever T20 score for a batter in the massive win against Austria on Tuesday.

132 runs from 61 balls. This is how he did it.

  14. LINE-UPs from The Grange Clubpublished at 11:22 British Summer Time 27 July 2023

    Scotland v Denmark (11:30)

Scotland: Munsey, Hairs, McMullen, Berrington (c), Mackintosh (wk), Leask, Greaves, Watt, Sharif, Main, Currie.

Another unchanged XI - despite fervent speculation here in the press box that Scotland might rest a few before Ireland.

Denmark: Lægsgaard, Bharaj, Shah (c), Hashmi (wk), Ahmad, Thanikaithasan, Lucky Ali, Anand, Munir, A Mahmood, M Mahmood.

Two changes to the Denmark team that lost to Italy - Saran Aslam and Eshan Karimi drop out, replaced by captain Hamid Shah and Muse Mahmood.

  15. Denmark win toss and decide to bowlpublished at 11:12 British Summer Time 27 July 2023

    Scotland v Denmark (11:30 BST)

Good morning and welcome to a very grey Grange Cricket Club. Truthfully, I didn’t think we’d get this far this morning.

But, after two pitch inspections, we have a delayed start in Scotland’s penultimate game of the T20 Cricket World Cup European Regional Finals.

It’s an 11:30 start with 18 overs per side and a shortened 10-minute interval between innings.

For now, the obstacle in Scotland’s path is Denmark. Will they prove easy to skittle - like Austria - or more stubborn - like Jersey?

    Let’s bring you the teams.
