You'll be pleased to hear that's not the end of the live cricket action this evening. Not by a long way.

BBC Two have live coverage of the men's match between Southern Brave and Trent Rockets right now at 18:00 BST.

You can follow live text commentary of that match here...

  2. To recap...published at 18:04 British Summer Time 1 August 2023

A quick reminder of what happened before we go then...

Smriti Mandhana's 55 plus useful contributions from Danni Wyatt (27) and Maia Bouchier (27) crucial in helping Southern Brave reach 157-6.

A comical run-out from the first ball did not exactly set the right tone for the Trent Rockets reply.

Nat Sciver-Brunt (49) and Harmanpreet Kaur (22) briefly threatened but when they were dismissed, it was effectively game over for the Rockets.

Mary Taylor, on her debut in The Hundred, was the pick of the Brave bowlers with an impressive 3-18.

It's a night to never forgot for Mary Taylor.

Trent Rockets captain Nat Sciver-Brunt speaking to BBC Sport: "It was a tough start. They batted pretty well but we probably missed our line and length a little. They made it difficult when we were batting. I thought we had a little sniff when I was going but when Anya [Shrubsole] got me.

"We just didn't get going quickly enough with the bat. We faced too many dots. If we turn those into ones the target is more achievable. It also doesn't help when you get run out first ball! There is plenty to work on.

"We'll get used to playing with different people as the tournament goes on. We've spoke about those bonds before the tournament."

Today showed that Southern Brave know how to win.

They've lost two finals but they have a winning formula and know how to win in any situation.

I reckon they can do it.

Lauren Bell obviously played every match in the Ashes. There was a Test match and almost every match went to the final over. She's probably very tired and hopefully, we will see her soon.

The fact that Southern Brave won so emphatically without Lauren Bell bodes well for their campaign in The Hundred.

That's a really impressive display. The Brave were outstanding, they've put in a really high class performance. The confidence has come straight away. They've dislodged a really good side, a very impressive performance.

As soon as Anya Shrubsole had Nat Sciver-Brunt caught and bowled Trent Rockets were toast.

    A comfortable victory.

I think Anya Shrubsole has been magnificent as a captain. She's got her fielding right, she helped get a wicket with her first ball and the Brave have been very impressive.

  12. Rockets 129-7published at 1 ball left

A single apiece for Katherine Sciver-Brunt and Alana King off the next few balls.

I think we will see plenty of Mary Taylor in the future. An absolutely fantastic start for her.

  14. Rockets 127-7published at 4 balls left

Maitlan Brown's ball is worked for a single by Alana King.

    Trent Rockets need snookers now

The Rockets need to hit a boundary a ball, pretty simple. The Southern Brave have been really impressive, they got that really good start. They've got the ball swinging around and they've fielded nicely.

  16. Rockets 126-7published at 5 balls left

Good use of slower balls from Mary Taylor in that set as she finishes with 3-18 off her 20 balls.

What a debut this is for Mary Taylor. She's bowled 16 balls, 3-12 with 10 dot balls, what a start to her Hundred career.

  19. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 9 balls left

    Gardner c Kemp b Taylor 10 (Rockets 120-6)

Three wickets for Mary Taylor now, who varies her pace well.

Impressive stuff from the teenager as she accounts for Joanne Gardner with a cleverly-disguised deliver out the back of the hand which is spooned up Freya Kemp.

  20. Rockets 120-6published at 10 balls left

Chloe Tryon with six runs off her set. She'll settle for that.

Brave are firmly in the box seat this barring something spectacular.

    38 needed off 10 balls.
