    Anya Shrubsole is back.

She was superb at the start of the innings, taking these two wickets.

  2. Superchargers 91-7published at 90 balls

Kate Cross has joined Georgia Wareham out in the middle.

There's plenty of power in that pair, and Superchargers need them to find the boundary.

  3. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 88 balls

    Dobson c & b Adams 1 (Superchargers 90-7)

    Another one goes.

Leah Dobson goes a big hoick but a top edge just goes straight up in the air.

The bowler Georgia Adams steadies herself and takes the catch.

There's a bit of confusion between Adams and Rhianna Southby but thankfully there's no collision.

  4. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 84 balls

    Heath c Mandhana b Tryon 11 (Superchargers 88-6)

    Superchargers are crumbling.

Bess Heath plays a superb shot through the covers for four, and she looks to go again but slices it straight up for Smriti Mandhana to take a simple catch.

Brave are well and truly on top.

  5. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 81 balls

Kelly st Southby c Tryon 39 (Superchargers 83-5)

Left-arm spin gets Marie Kelly again!

We said earlier that Kelly has been dismissed six times in 38 balls against the bowling technique and it is her undoing again.

She looks to come down the pitch but the ball goes through to Rhianna Southby and she again completes the stumping.

  6. Superchargers 83-4published at 80 balls

    Oh, lovely shot.

Bess Heath uses her feet well to skip down the pitch and loft Kalea Moore over the covers for four.

Two a ball from here would give Superchargers 123. They'd have to bowl very well to defend that.

  7. Superchargers 78-4published at 75 balls

Brilliant stuff from Lauren Bell, conceding just three runs for her third set.

The England seamer has only gone for 10 runs off her 15 balls.

We're seeing her turn to her variations now, and she used the bouncer to Marie Kelly well in that set too.

  8. Superchargers 75-4published at 70 balls

Bess Heath is the new batter.

She's spent time with England A against their Australia counterparts this summer so there's plenty of talent there.

Can she lift Superchargers to a defendable total?

  9. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 68 balls

    Davidson-Richards st Southby b Adams 5 (Superchargers 72-4)

    Superb from Rhianna Southby!

There is a thin edge from Davidson-Richards and Southby knew it.

Southby is practically a specialist keeper, and is carded to bat at 10 (and that was 11 in the last game), but Brave are getting their rewards for that approach.

  10. Brave reviewpublished at 11:43 British Summer Time 6 August 2023

Has Alice Davidson-Richards got a thin edge through to Rhianna Southby?

She's convinced and Anya Shrubsole sends it upstairs for another look.

  11. Superchargers 67-3published at 65 balls

Marie Kelly is at her third Hundred team in three seasons.

She was with Birmingham Phoenix and Trent Rockets but in the first year found opportunities hard to come by and then was used in the middle order by Rockets, which didn't really suit her strengths.

She uses her feet really well to work the ball into the mid-wicket boundary. Nice shot that.

Here are the two wickets that Anya Shrubsole picked up early.

    The years were rolling back.

  13. Superchargers 59-3published at 60 balls

How do Superchargers approach this now?

This pitch doesn't seem the easiest to score on, and certainly start on so it is going to be hard for new batters to go hard from the start.

Does that mean Marie Kelly, who now has 26, has to go? Or does she make sure she lasts the 100 balls?

  14. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 53 balls

Armitage st Southby b Adams 21 (Superchargers 55-3)

    The pressure tells.

Superchargers were playing some good shots but they were regularly unable to find the boundary, with some good fielding positioning from Brave.

It leads to Hollie Armitage trying to use her feet but she misses and Rhianna Southby, who stays incredibly low behind the stumps, gathers and whips off the bails.

    Good work from the keeper.

  15. Superchargers 52-2published at 50 balls

    Shot!

Marie Kelly takes one step down the pitch and creams Kalea Moore back down the ground.

It beats the full-length dive at mid-off and races to the ropes.

  16. Superchargers 47-2published at 45 balls

Runs are coming, but largely in singles as Marie Kelly and Hollie Armitage work the spin round the spacious Ageas Bowl outfield.

I wonder what score they will be targeting? 130?

The average first-innings winning score in The Hundred at the ground is 138. Par is 133.

They'd be in the game with that score.

  17. Superchargers 42-2published at 40 balls

    Oh!

Is that a missed stumping chance? I think it may be.

Marie Kelly advances down the track and is basically yorked by Georgia Adams, but Rhianna Southby isn't able to gather cleanly.

The runs are coming more frequently against the spin.

  18. Superchargers 34-2published at 35 balls

Another change for Brave as the off-spin of Kalea Moore comes on.

Marie Kelly does average 37.25 against off-spin and Hollie Armitage 24.55 so they should be more at home.

That seems the case anyway as Armitage perfectly bisects two leg-side fielders to pick up her first boundary.

  19. Superchargers 25-2published at 30 balls

Hollie Armitage only averages 15.60 against left-arm spin too. It's her weakest bowling type too.

Looks like Brave had done their homework and got the match-ups spot on.

Superchargers know they need to be busy though, and Marie Kelly just lofts over cover and picks up her first boundary.

  20. Postpublished at 11:20 British Summer Time 6 August 2023

We spoke about left-arm spin and Marie Kelly's troubles against it.

We'll see if it's true now.

    Chloe Tryon is on.
