Southern Brave were culpable of making it more difficult for themselves too.

Out of all the batters in world cricket at the moment Harry Brook is someone you probably don't want to drop.

This from Craig Overton cost Brave 51 runs.

An emphatic victory for Northern Superchargers then.

    Oh no, Adam Hose.

Tim David picks out Hose on the mid-wicket boundary and it should be a very easy catch but it drops out.

It basically goes through his hands and hits his knee.

Southern Brave are probably not going to win this game but Tim David is going to try and get them as close as possible.

He clubs a six over long-on before he picks up a one-bounce four straight down the ground.

    He's up to 29 off 11 balls.

There are some sarcastic cheers round the Ageas Bowl as Southern Brave get back for a couple.

They haven't been very happy with the running in this chase.

  15. Brave 85-3published at 30 balls left

    117 runs needed

Leus du Plooy shows a bit of fight, hitting Callum Parkinson for back-to-back boundaries. He is 18 from 16 deliveries.

It all looks a bit beyond Southern Brave at the moment, though, with 117 runs still needed from just 30 balls.

Marizanne Kapp deserves a call out too for her 4-18.

She just keeps on delivering, especially with the ball.

The Hundred has suffered plenty of big-name drop outs this season but in Kapp and Shabnim Ismail the competition has two of the best players in the world involved.

    132 runs needed

Spin does the trick again as Brave skipper James Vince skies one off Adil Rashid and Matthew Short takes a comfortable catch.

Vince departs from 33 from 27 balls. Superchargers well on their way to a thumping victory.

Shabnim Ismail was named Match Hero for her 3-12 off 20 balls but a shoutout for Georgia Elwiss.

She removed Alice Capsey and Marizanne Kapp with the ball and also made a very important 33 with the bat.

  19. Brave 61-1published at 50 balls left

    141 runs needed

Devon Conway has to get on with it but that obviously brings risk - and it costs him his wicket.

The New Zealander attempts to heave Wayne Parnell over the rope but only picks out Adam Hose on the square leg boundary.

The wily David Wiese then concedes just two runs from his first set.

Southern Brave need something very special from here.

  20. 'Welsh Fire have been great to me'published at 16:54 British Summer Time 6 August 2023

Match Hero Shabnim Ismail: "I am 100% thrilled. I summed up the wicket very well this morning. I knew there would be shape and I just wanted to do well for the team.

"We spoke about going straighter compared to the Southern Brave game and we knew the ball would move here and that's what we tried to do as a team.

"Welsh Fire have been great to me. I am so chuffed they got me in the team.

"I was stressing at the end because I had my pads on so I'm glad we got over the line!

"I had a month to prepare for this and I still wanted to be professional and win games for Welsh Fire."
