Dane van Niekerk is so strong through the off side. It's nice to see her playing her shots because they really need her to inject some pace into this innings.
She's been a bit low on runs recently so this would be a great time for her to find some form.
Sophie Ecclestone gets through four balls superbly with just two runs from them.
But the Invincibles need runs and Dane van Niekerk gets four of them with a lovely shot, hitting up and over the covers.

I've been impressed with Sophie Ecclestone's captaincy. She's so passionate and fiery and that naturally means she takes people with her as a leader.

Alice Capsey really burst onto the scene in the first year in The Hundred and no one really knew much about her but she is a proper, proper cricketer now.
She uses her feet, she can play the short ball, she has a swagger and really asserts herself on the opposition with her presence at the crease.
She is a powerhouse with the bat.
Smashed by Alice Capsey but back towards the Dane van Niekerk at the non-striker's end. It comes off her bat and away for a single.
Manchester Originals think they've got Alice Capsey lbw as she attempts to reverse sweep Amanda-Jade Wellington.
It's reviewed instantly, though, and it is quickly clear why. Plenty of bat on that from Capsey.
Big chance! But it goes begging. How costly might that be?
A leading edge from Alice Capsey and the ball balloons towards mid-off.
Fi Morris runs around and gets there but just can't cling on.
Northern Superchargers battle to get to a competitive score is on but there's a long way to go.
They have reached 48-4 after 45 balls against Trent Rockets with Saif Zaib and Brydon Carse now at the crease.
Joe Root has bowled 10 balls, taking one wicket and conceding 14 runs.

There's pressure at both ends now.
Because the batters know there's nothing coming from Sophie Ecclestone, so do they just nudge her around and play it safe? But then you risk losing wickets if you have to attack the next bowler.
All of a sudden in a 100-ball game, you can find yourself properly tied down.
Top class from Sophie Ecclestone. Just one run and a wicket - an important one of Suzie Bates - from her first five balls.

You miss, I hit. Classic from Sophie Ecclestone, bowled at good pace.
It's just her stock delivery, so it was the pressure on Suzie Bates that got that wicket really.
Bates b Ecclestone 13 (Invincibles 41-2)
Bowled her!
The pressure tells again. Suzie Bates was going nowhere and when she tries to force it against the quality of Sophie Ecclestone, the odds were always against her.
Bates went for the sweep, Ecclestone was targeting the stumps and it was the latter her found her mark.

Former England bowler on BBC Two
Manchester have been brilliant at containing Suzie Bates. You very rarely see her on 13 from 15 balls.
In T20 cricket, Sophie Ecclestone has a bowling average of 16.32 and a strike rate of 15.9.

Sophie Ecclestone has just got everything.
A strong action, comes out at a good trajectory, she gets good bounce.
A top quality bowler. And she's so consistent.
The Oval has got a big outfield so it's going to be tough for the batters because they're going to have to put their own pace and power into the ball.
So close! Amanda-Jade Wellington gives the ball some air, Alice Capsey tries to attack it but gets a leading edge that loops into the off side.
Fortunately for Capsey, it is in the gap and none of the Originals fielders can make up the ground to take the catch.
Ah, here comes Sophie Ecclestone...

Amanda-Jade Wellington is such an asset to any team. She doesn't get into the Australia side these days because they go with Alana King but she has had a brilliant two years for Southern Brave so she is a huge signing for Manchester.

Former England spinner on BBC Two
I'd be saving Sophie Ecclestone until the end here.
They've had a great start and she is so hard to get away especially when you are trying to attack. She just bowls so straight, gives nothing to the batters and is so hard for them to get away.
It's spin time for Manchester Originals. Amanda-Jade Wellington is into the attack.
