Well, that stat speaks for itself!

Laurie Evans looked a little baffled by Sunil Narine's spin and the pressure tells from just his third ball as the batter tries to hit him straight down the ground, but picks out Will Jacks at long-on.

187 looks a long, long way away now.

Oh, this could be disastrous for Manchester.

Has Jos Buttler been run out? Nathan Sowter, who takes the stumps at the bowler's end, likes it.

A scratchy powerplay for the Originals, who are going to have to get a move on if they want to get close to 187.

But if anyone can, it's Jos Buttler...

    Salt c Sowter b Atkinson 2 (Originals 15-1)

    Gus Atkinson gets the breakthrough!

His previous two balls were clocked at 92 and 93mph, but expertly delivers his slower ball at 70mph to draw the false shot from Phil Salt.

The ball lobs up in the air for Nathan Sowter to take the catch and Salt departs for a scratchy two from 11 balls.

    Brilliant from Spencer Johnson.

He's bowled 10 balls for just one run on his Hundred debut. And to Phil Salt and Jos Buttler, that's pretty good.

That's one of Jos Buttler's favourite shots, he's so good at playing at. Atkinson is bowling at 85/90mph and Buttler gets every piece of that.

    Oh, Jos.

He's faced just six balls but has no hesitation in bringing out the ramp shot, scooping it over the keeper for the first six of the innings.

    Class.

I would be tempted to give Johnson another five. Great bowling on his debut. That will have settled his nerves a little bit.

Spencer Johnson starts nicely, with no runs coming from the bat and just a leg bye.

He's also got immaculate hair. Just in case you were interested.

Australian quick Spencer Johnson has the ball.

Jamie Overton has done very well out of that 186, going for just 21 from his 20 balls.

Although Jason Roy had already done a fair bit of damage by the time he'd gone.

    Thanks, Matt.

It's a big total but Manchester Originals have got some pretty handy batters in their line-up.

Jos Buttler, Phil Salt, Laurie Evans... this could be fun.

  18. 'Nice to finally make an impact'published at 19:52 British Summer Time 9 August 2023

Oval Invincibles batter Heinrich Klaasen on BBC Two: "I felt a bit of pressure after not performing in the first two games, so that was nice to finally make an impact - hopefully it's enough to get us over the line.

"Myself and Jason [Roy] were looking at about 180. The wicket is a bit two paced, some steep bounce out there and the slower balls are gripping too which makes it quite tricky but I'm very happy with the total we've got.

"I just tried to keep the momentum going. I play best when I keep still, play the basics and not move around too much."

The Invincibles got off to a fantastic start, they will be pretty happy with that I think. Will Jacks got off to a flier, Jason Roy played well, Klaasen was class as well. 186 is not a bad score.
