Summary

  • Sciver-Brunt hits last four balls for six to win game

  • Rockets' first win of season

  • Gibson and Kerr top score for Spirit with 36

  • Katherine Sciver-Brunt out through injury

  1. Spirit 26-0published at 15 balls

What looked set to be a very good set from Grace Potts takes a turn late on and becomes a rather expensive one.

A wide early on is the only run after four legal deliveries but the extra proves very costly. It's slapped for four by Danielle Gibson and it's a no-ball as well.

Free hit... and that is walloped to the fence as well by Gibson.

  2. Grace Harris v Nat-Sciver Bruntpublished at 11:11 British Summer Time 12 August 2023

So far, Rockets skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt has resisted the urge to bring herself on to bowl at Grace Harris.

The England all-rounder has dismissed Harris five times in 10 innings and while the Aussie batter has had some success, Sciver-Brunt has the upper-hand in that battle.

    Head-to-head in all T20s: 10 innings, 56 runs, 41 balls, 5 dismissals, S/R 137, Average 11.20

  3. Spirit 15-0published at 10 balls

Good running between Grace Harris and Danielle Gibson helps them take the advantage of some decent sized boundaries at Lord's to get back for two.

They're both targeting the leg side and Harris finds the boundary last ball with a strong pull in front of square.

  4. Spirit 6-0published at 5 balls

That boundary aside, it's a decent start from Alexa Stonehouse, just one from the last couple of balls.

Another left-arm seamer, Naomi Dattani, will bowl the next five.

  5. Spirit 5-0published at 3 balls

Alexa Stonehouse is bowling the first set of five for the Rockets and after sending down a leg-side wide, she is pulled away for four third ball by Grace Harris.

Perfectly placed between the two fielders in the deep.

The Rockets will want to put that behind them today but they're chasing again so they have a job to do with the ball first.

London Spirit captain Heather Knight: "I was a bit on the fence so I didn't mind too much, the pitch actually played pretty well the other day albeit in slightly different conditions.

"It's lovely to come to the ground and know you're going to get a game in. It's been soggy so far. We can out there the other night, albeit in a shortened game, played alright but there are things we can improve on. But a lot of positives to take as well.

"When you don't play, you have to practice more so we've practiced a lot!

"We want more boundaries at the back end, we had too many dot balls last time and we have a lot of power in our batting line-up so hopefully we can put a good score on the board."

Trent Rockets captain Nat Sciver-Brunt: "We haven't really been able to perform our skills for a full match yet. We've done things pretty well in halves and three-quarters so hoping to put that right today.

"It's important to reflect on the collapse the other day and try to work out as individuals, what you would do the next time you were in that position. We did that a couple of days ago then had a good session yesterday and we're here refreshed.

"Not the best start to the competition and it's felt a bit disjointed with the rain but hopefully we can get things started today."

  12. Rockets win the toss and bowlpublished at 10:47 British Summer Time 12 August 2023

Nat Sciver-Brunt calls right at the toss and the Trent Rockets will bowl first.

London Spirit skipper Heather Knight says she probably would've bowled as well but isn't too fussed about setting a total.
