That's it from a brilliantly entertaining game at Lord's and it's London Spirit who take the win on the back of a magnificent innings from Dan Lawrence.

Joe Root did his best to take Trent Rockets to a record chase but his superb unbeaten 72 was not quite enough.

In dramatic circumstance, Southern Brave recorded a two-wicket victory over the Welsh Fire. With a single needed off the final delivery, captain Anya Shrubsole ran a single after the ball struck her on the pads to seal a win.

The Southern Brave climb to the top of the women's table, one point clear of Welsh Fire.

First up is this six from Joe Root, smoked over the leg side!

Match Hero London Spirit's Dan Lawrence: "With a boundary that is only 40 metres it's so hard to control any batter who gets going.

"I thought our lads in the last 10 balls there held their nerve really well and thankfully got over the line.

"You've got to accept that some balls are going to go for six and then the next ball has to be your best ball again."

On Joe Root: "He can play! Thankfully we managed to keep him off strike the last few balls. But he's brilliant, played some amazing shots today."

On Zak Crawley/ his own innings: "It's great to have Zak back. He's in amazing form so just let him play as many shots as he wants then assess the situation. With a short side, you can get going pretty quickly."

After a brilliant six, Georgia Adams is caught by Sophia Dunkley on 40 off just 24 balls. This is game is going to the wire, with the Brave needing nine off the final five balls.

Straight after Adams' wicket, Kalea Moore's optimistic attempt of a quick single backfires as she is run out at the other end for a golden duck.

The wicket of Daniel Sams with the 97th ball of the innings proved crucial.

The Australian had blitzed his way to 32 from 10 balls before he was trapped lbw Nathan Ellis.

Shabnim Ismail removed Chloe Tryon for seven, but back-to-back fours for Georgia Adams has kept this game very tight, with the Brave needing 17 off the final 10 balls to win.

Joe Root finished unbeaten on 72 from 35 balls with 10 fours and two sixes. A fantastic knock but it came in vain...
