Kapp st Lee b Gordon 9 (Invincibles 46-3)

Gone! It is a beautiful bit of bowling from Gordon but it is an avoidable dismissal for Kapp.

She's beaten as the ball spins through her defences, but for her foot is lifted for a considerable amount of time that gives Lizelle Lee time to whip off the bails.

Rockets are in full control here.

  2. Umpire reviewpublished at 15:29 British Summer Time 21 August 2023

    Has Marizanne Kapp been stumped?

It's a beauty from Kirstie Gordon, somehow missing the stumps - but Lizelle Lee thinks she's got it.

  3. Postpublished at 15:28 British Summer Time 21 August 2023

Alice Capsey is playing an important knock here for her side, moving to 25 from 18 balls.

  4. Invincibles 44-2published at 40 balls

Invincibles tick the singles off Bryony Smith before Alice Capsey uses her feet beautifully to manoeuvre the ball down to fine leg for a valuable four.

  5. Invincibles 37-2published at 35 balls

A tidy start from seamer Cassidy McCarthy, who is replacing Katherine Sciver-Brunt. She concedes just two runs from her first five balls as they keep the squeeze on the Invincibles.

In case you missed it earlier, Katherine Sciver-Brunt is not playing today because of a hip injury.

  6. Invincibles 35-2published at 30 balls

Leg-spinner Alana King is on for the first time and is welcomed by a boundary off the bat of all-rounder Marizanne Kapp.

King doesn't look best pleased with the fielding effort at point but it was struck firmly by Kapp.

How's this for a second ball of the day?!

  8. Invincibles 30-2published at 25 balls

The Oval Invincibles were just starting to accelerate after the loss of Winfield-Hill but Alexa Stonehouse has put the brakes firmly back on.

A solid powerplay for the Trent Rockets.

  9. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 22 balls

    Bates b Stonehouse 7 (Invincibles 30-2)

The return of Alexa Stonehouse does the business!

She gets one to keep a little low and Suzie Bates is nowhere near it as she attempts an almighty pull shot.

What an impact the 18-year-old is having!

  10. 6 runs

    Invincibles 29-1published at 20 balls

    Capsey on the charge!

She launches Bryony Smith straight back over her head for the first six of the day.

Suzie Bates then follows it with four of her own.

Invincibles are recovering nicely from that early wicket.

  11. Not outpublished at 16 balls

    Capsey survives this time.

Bryony Smith did get a hand to it as the ball was hit back towards her by Suzie Bates and on to the stumps, but Capsey was quick enough to get back in her crease safely.

  12. Umpire reviewpublished at 16 balls

    And another!

Has Alice Capsey been run out at the non-striker's end?

  13. Not outpublished at 14 balls

    Invincibles 17-1

    Umpire's call saves Suzie Bates.

  14. Rockets reviewpublished at 14 balls

Alice Capsey crashes Kirstie Gordon's second ball for an authoritative boundary but the bowler strikes back at Suzie Bates.

She has Bates pinned in front after attempting a reverse sweep, and the Rockets fancy this.

  15. Invincibles 12-1published at 10 balls

Trent Rockets are blessed with left-arm bowling options as Naomi Dattani bowls the next five.

She starts well, the only blemish for Rockets being four byes that darts past keeper Lizelle Lee.

Not runs off the bat, but Invincibles will take anything at this stage.

Lovely shot from Alice Capsey, driving through the covers for four with perfect timing.

The early loss of her opening partner doesn't seem to have bothered her that much!

  18. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 2 balls

    Winfield-Hill b Stonehouse 0 (Invincibles 0-1)

What a start that is for the Trent Rockets!

Left-arm seamer Alexa Stonehouse starts with a wide-ish ball that Lauren Winfield-Hill leaves alone, but the next is an absolute beauty clipping the top of off stump.

Winfield-Hill trudges off, but that is a brilliant delivery from young Stonehouse first up.

Trent Rockets captain Nat Sciver-Brunt: "I would have liked to have won the toss and batted but that is OK. We've had a mixed tournament so we're happy to go out there together and try put a performance in.

"We've lacked consistency, we can probably say the same from the first two years too. With the bat, we haven't been able to adapt to situations, but it is not through lack of trying.

"It will be a big change not having Katherine [Sciver-Brunt]. Everybody has got to know her and how passionate she is about the team she plays in and the game."
