Three games down, one to go!

In the men's game at Trent Bridge, the Rockets kept their hopes of defending the crown alive with a victory that eliminated Birmingham Phoenix.

Read Stephan Shemilt's report on that one here.

Meanwhile, it's the women's match at Sophia Gardens, Southern Brave got over the line to knock out 2021 and 2022 winners Oval Invincibles.

Tom Mallows' report on that game is here.

  2. 'Rockets were better than us'published at 17:26 British Summer Time 19 August 2023

Phoenix batter Jamie Smith: "It was a tough day for us. Rockets were better than us with the bat, ball and in the field and deserved the win.

"The wind affected some of our fielding at times. It can also help with the batting if you hit with the wind.

"It's disappointing. You go into a tournament hoping to get through and win, but we haven't done that."

It's been a tough year for Birmingham Phoenix. Defeat for the men's side today means that they are the first team unable to qualify for the knockout stage.

It was the same for the women's side as well.

  4. 'It helps knowing you have to win'published at 17:25 British Summer Time 19 August 2023

Rockets batter Colin Munro told BBC Two: "It was awesome. We came out today knowing it was must-win and we have to win the next one.

"It was a great crowd and they got us over the line. We weren't shocked to be batting first. It doesn't matter what you do, you just have to do it well.

"It helps when you know you have to win. It puts you in the frame of mind knowing that whatever you do you have to do it well. We have to go to The Oval and do exactly what we did tonight."

  5. 'Freya Kemp was unbelievable'published at 17:21 British Summer Time 19 August 2023

Match Hero, Brave's Georgia Adams: "It feels good. It is a really special day for Anya Shrubsole, that kept us going, we couldn't let her play last game at the Ageas and not take the win. I'm really pleased we got over the line.

"It was quite unusual that I was out there with a few balls to go but the knock from Freya Kemp was unbelievable. It took the pressure off massively. She's been working really hard so I'm chuffed for her. You can't afford to take your foot off the gas in this competition.

"I have really got into the swing of things with the bowling. I've been told off in the past for not taking it seriously enough so I have been working really hard. it is nice to have the all-rounder status, it does take pressure off and I can contribute to the team in either.

"It is great to get the win over such a strong side, you can't them or any side in this competition for granted."

It was a comfortable win for the Rockets at Trent Bridge but the women's game in Cardiff was that bit closer.

Southern Brave won it with four balls to spare to eliminate two-time champions Oval Invincibles...

The Birmingham Phoenix never really got going, no real contributions and they just fell away.

A really professional performance from the Trent Rockets here.

Swing and a miss from Chris Woakes. It's job done for the Trent Rockets.

The defending champions are still in with a chance. Birmingham Phoenix are out.

Sams is so good at the death and he isn't under any pressure at the minute now.

  11. Phoenix 114-9published at 3 balls left

    Need 49 more

Hat-trick ball for Daniel Sams because he got a wicket to end his last set.

However, it's a poor one - that review took so long he may have forgotten he was even on a hat-trick.

A full toss that Tanveer Sangha clips for a single.

    Richardson c Cook b Sams 2 (Phoenix 113-9)

It took an age but it's given in the end!

Kane Richardson swung the ball high into the leg side and Sam Cook had to make up a lot of ground to get to it.

He manages, takes the catch but the ball bounces out. Fortunately for him, he catches it in his arms.

After a lengthy third umpire check, it's given.

  13. Umpire reviewpublished at 4 balls left

We think we've had a wicket as Kane Richardson skies one and looks to be well caught by Sam Cook.

However, the third umpire is being very thorough to make sure he did hold on to it.

Given the state of the game, this all feels very unnecessary.

Trent Rockets have been really good in the field today too.

  15. Phoenix 113-8published at 5 balls left

    Need 50 more

Very good from Sam Cook and Phoenix need 10 a ball...

Barring wides and no-balls, the Rockets are home and dried.

Real smart bowling from Cook, you know what you're going to get from him.

  17. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 9 balls left

    Milne b Cook 1 (Phoenix 109-8)

Brilliant slower ball from Sam Cook!

Out of the back of the hand, Adam Milne went for the big hit - as he had to - but was through the shot in time to watch the ball go past him and hit middle stump.

Nine sixes in a row required...

  18. Brave win by seven wicketspublished at Four balls left

    Brave 132-3

What a win for Southern Brave!

They were reeling at 59-3 but Georgia Adams and Freya Kemp have seen them over the line with four balls to spare.

It was won in style too, with Kemp sealing victory with a huge six over deep mid-wicket.

The win consolidates Brave's position at the top of the table, but defeat means defending champions Oval Invincibles cannot now reach the knockouts.

  19. Phoenix 109-3published at 10 balls left

    Need 54 more

Almost without anyone noticing, the Rockets went for a review form the last ball of that set as Chris Woakes missed with a hook shot off Luke Wood.

No bat involved. Woakes survives and the Phoenix need nine sixes from the last 10 balls to win.

    Simple.

That was a lovely stroke from Woakes, he's providing some entertainment in the latter part of this game.
