  1. Fire 42-0published at 30 balls

Superchargers bring the leg-breaks of Georgia Wareham into play to stem the flow of Fire runs.

She draws a top edge from Dunkley but it lands safe.

    Sensational.

There have been a couple of let-offs for the Welsh Fire batters so it's definitely been their powerplay.

    What a great shot.

I've said it before but that is when we know she is seeing the ball well. She keeps her shape and strikes it so cleanly.

As a bowler, it is so demoralising having to watch the ball flying over your head!

  4. 6 runs

    Fire 37-0published at 25 balls

A first six of the match for Sophia Dunkley!

Right out of the middle of the bat for the England opener, holding the pose as she blasts Cross high and long into the vicinity of the sight screen.

The powerplay had ended with the previous delivery (we lost a ball due to the rain, this is a 95-ball match), but Dunkley wasn't worried about boundary sweepers - that was far beyond them.

They are so tough to take when you are running backwards, trying to take it over your shoulder.

But Phoebe Litchfield will expect herself to take that.

  6. dropped catch

Beaumont dropped on fivepublished at 21 balls

    Fire 30-0

We had a lot of dropped catches on Tuesday and we've got our first today.

In fairness to Phoebe Litchfield it's a difficult one. Tammy Beaumont chips Kate Cross down the ground, she doesn't really get hold of it and it comes down behind the fielding ring.

Litchfield has her eye on it, but she's got to take the catch over her shoulder and she can't keep hold of the ball - it runs away for four.

Sophia Dunkley is at her best when she is hitting strong shots down the ground.

  8. Fire 26-0published at 20 balls

Seam in successive sets as left-arm quick Grace Ballinger takes the ball.

Dunkley advances and brings her bat round in an arc, powering Ballinger flat and straight down the ground for four.

A fantastic bit of work from Jemimah Rodrigues.

  10. Fire 17-0published at 15 balls

Strike bowler Kate Cross enters the attack for Superchargers.

Dunkley pushes the ball between cover and point and produces a wonderful bit of fielding from Jemimah Rodrigues to save the boundary - she chases the ball down and dives straight over the ropes, scooping the ball back to the accompanying Phoebe Litchfield as she does so. Fire run three.

I like to see Sophia Dunkley using her feet. You can't play any differently just because it's a final or a knockout game.

As a team, you want to be the one to throw the first punch. Neither team has quite done that yet but Dunkley is showing the intent.

  12. Fire 11-0published at 10 balls

Just four runs from Higham's second set. The spinner went for just five runs from her 13 balls on Tuesday.

  13. Attack Fire's top threepublished at 15:19 British Summer Time 26 August 2023

In this season, 71% of Fire’s total runs have come from their top three batters. Using the best resources to dismiss them cheaply will go a long way in gaining a stronghold.

    Top 3: 660 runs, Average 34.73, strike-rate 145

    Rest: 273 runs, Average 15.16, strike-rate 116

  14. Fire 7-0published at 5 balls

    Could this be out? No!

Sophia Dunkley lofts Higham high down the ground - Kate Cross runs round from long-on with an outstretched hand but she's not close enough, the ball plugs and goes for four.

Lucy Higham is due to continue with a second set of five deliveries.

    v Pace: 72 runs, 45 balls, 1 dismissal, strike-rate 160

In her last game against Superchargers, Lucy Higham started against Beaumont and dismissed her in three balls.

  16. Fire 1-0published at 1 ball

Lots of flight from Higham and opener Sophia Dunkley takes a single down to long-on.

Fire are off the mark and Tammy Beaumont is at the crease.

Oval Invincibles captain on BBC Two

Emily Windsor has got experience of playing in finals, she hit the winning runs for Oval Invincibles last year.

It is a tough decision on Alex Hartley but with Hayley Matthews able to bowl, it means it's the right thing for the balance of the team.

We know how good Kate Cross is in the powerplay but I think her death bowling is what she has worked on the most.

She has worked on her variations a lot and uses them very smartly.

Northern Superchargers captain Hollie Armitage on BBC Two: "It's a good decision for us. Hopefully we can defend in the first half.

"I think [Tuesday's win over Fire] is fresh in our memory. It's a different occasion, and it's a new day. We're really excited for today."

On praise for her captaincy: "If I can keep giving out good messages to my players and show that I'm a decent leader then that bodes well."
