  2. Post update

Match Hero, Oval Invincibles' Tom Curran on BBC Two: "We had a bit of time to rebuild coming in at that position. I wanted to be positive, play my strong shots and then launch at the end.

"Just watching those, there are a couple of nice shots there!

"Everyone keeps saying that I've improved my batting but I don't see it that way. It's a compliment and it's nice to hear. But I have worked very hard on it, yes I came in to Surrey primarily as a bowler but it's pleasing to show what I can do.

"Jimmy was unbelievable. It was a crucial partnership for us and we really fed off each other out there. He's a class player and I think the left and right-hand combo helped us out.

"Our bowlers backed it up so well. We were so nervous but the team has been amazing throughout.

"Taking the momentum into the break definitely helped us but I still think it was probably a par score on a good pitch and they had a phenomenal batting line-up too.

"It has been a rollercoaster but I'm so pleased."

And this is the moment the Invincibles were waiting for...

  4. Post update

Oval Invincibles' spinners put the squeeze on through the middle overs and it was left to the seamers to finish the job.

Sam Curran safely negotiated the last five balls to seal the win.

  5. Post update

Manchester Originals started well in the chase but Phil Salt fell in the powerplay and when Jos Buttler departed soon after, they never really recovered....

  6. Post update

From looking down and out, a brilliant partnership between Tom Curran and Jimmy Neesham took the Invinicbles to what proved to be a winning total.

Curran hit an unbeaten 67 from 34, while Neesham ended 57 not out from 33 balls...

  7. Post update

What a game it was the round out this year's tournament and at 34-5, not many would have expected it would be Oval Invincibles lifting the trophy...

  8. Post update

    Michael Vaughan

Former England captain on BBC Two

Invincibles have been the best team throughout. We will talk about that partnership between Curran and Neesham for a long time.

Good teams find a way to win when they're up against it and that's exactly what happened tonight.

  9. Post update

Oval Invincibles' spinner Danny Briggs: "I think it was the composure of our middle order. Jimmy Neesham and Tom Curran batted really well and got us up to a competitive score and then we picked up key wickets all the way through their innings.

"Everyone has worked so hard to get here. We topped the group and played so hard to get here. Personally, it's been a funny year not playing a game and then getting the call to play in the final!"

Sam Billings lifts The Hundred trophy above his head

Sam Billings lifts the 'H' trophy high above his head, the fireworks go off and chants of 'campeones, campeones, loe, ole, ole!' begin!

Oval Invincibles are The Hundred 2023 men's champions!

  11. Post update

The Oval Invincibles have made their way up the the stage and are waiting patiently to get their hands on the trophy.

Here's the moment they knew for sure that they were The Hundred men's champions...

  12. Post update

    Tymal Mills

England pace bowler on BBC Two

Oval Invincibles had a bit more batting and that gave them a bit more freedom despite losing the five early wickets.

Originals were a bit different. They were very reliant on their top three. It worked last night but it came undone today.

  13. Post update

    Carlos Brathwaite

West Indies all-rounder on BBC Two

Something that will go under the radar today is Danny Briggs' five balls.

He has barely played for the Invincibles but he bowled five of the most important balls of the entire tournament.

To get the wicket of Jos Buttler changes a game.

  14. 'Tom and Jimmy stood up'

Oval Invincibles all-rounder Sam Curran on BBC Two: "I think at 34-5 it all comes down to Tom [Curran] and Jimmy [Neesham] and the way they played in a pressure situation. Every game a different person has stood up and that's the key to winning trophies.

"I am pleased for Tom, because he's had a hard season with injury and has been batting brilliantly. I am so happy. I think we are born to play and win trophies.

"The Hundred is going to get bigger and better. To get that trophy is brilliant. The group has been pretty similar and the celebrations tonight are going to be pretty special."

  15. Post update

    Tymal Mills

England pace bowler on BBC Two

They will look back on this night with a lot of fondness because of the position they were in with the bat.

Big games require big players and that is what Tom Curran delivered.

When the team that finishes top of the table is the one that ends up winning, you can't have any complaints about that.

  16. 'Quite hard to believe'

Oval Invincibles batter Will Jacks on BBC Two: "Buzzing! We worked hard for that. It was a crazy start to this game so to get to this position is still quite hard to believe.

"We've won close games before in this competition and that helped us. We'd have taken 160 at the start.

"Tom [Curran] and Neesham were incredible and hopefully one of them will be player of the match!"

  17. Post update

Manchester Originals come up just short for the second year running. They were in a brilliant position at one stage but were unable to counter Invincibles' counter.

162 was chaseable but they never really got going and losing Jos Buttler cheaply knocked the stuffing out of them.

Max Holden tried to mount a late charge but his wicket all-but ended their chances...

  18. Post update

    Tymal Mills

England pace bowler on BBC Two

It's been an excellent campaign. They came prepared after six days off before this final.

It was a fantastic partnership between Tom Curran and Jimmy Neesham.

  19. Post update

    Isa Guha

Former England bowler on BBC Two

They were down and out at 34-5.

But Jimmy Neesham and Tom Curran came together, and the bowlers finished it off.

  20. Post update

    Phil Tufnell

Former England spinner on BBC Two

It's been a great all round performance from Oval Invincibles throughout the competition.

They have been the most consistent side.
