We thought Malan's innings against Bangladesh would set up England's World Cup. He'll be eyeing 100 now, especially having only been handed a one-year contract.
This is the first change for the Dutch, the pace of Paul van Meekeren. He's getting some extra bounce, surprising Root.

I went to see S Club last week and I have no shame about it.

Malan hasn't had the best of tournaments, he had that innings against Bangladesh but finally, he has broken free.

That's been effortless, hasn't it? Dawid Malan has a half-century from 36 balls, including 10 fours. In general, he's just hit the loose bowling.

There are still two overs to go in this powerplay, but already, this is England's best powerplay score in this World Cup.
That's a grey area.

What about McBusted then? Not proud to say, I've seem them.

Edwards has just ran to Van Beek, probably to tell him these half-volleys are not walking. Just drop your length slightly.
It's like Van Beek is checking out if Malan can drive, because he keeps feeding the same shot. My tip to Logan would be that he can.

Malan has not really had to do anything and he's moved to 41 off 28. He's just played nice strokes.
Yeah, probably too full for the pull, then Bairstow gets himself in a horrible tangle. Joe Root is the new man. Another Yorkshireman due a score. Malan is still flying. He's on 41 from 28.

It doesn't bounce a lot. If you said at the start of the World Cup Bairstow didn't have 100 in eight World Cup games in India, where he's had success, I would've said you were mad. He's just walked into the cameraman too, which doesn't help.

Bairstow's miserable tournament continues. The length wasn't there for it, there wasn't much planning or thinking for that.
Bairstow c Van Meekeren b Dutt 15 (Eng 48-1)
It's been that sort of tournament for Jonny, hasn't it?
He tries to pull Aryan Dutt but only gets a loopy top edge. Was it there for the shot? Not sure. Either way, it's a simple catch to short fine leg.

Vaughan shows he's down with the kids with his description of "Tech dance" music.

The Dutch opener has got great locks. They will be flowing from the back of his helmet later.

You would think looking at Max O'Dowd and his long hair, you would think he is a rocker. Something like Def Leppard or Kiss. He's actually more a dance and DJ kind of man.
