Malan has slammed that one for four. He's pumped his chest out, that's one way to deal with the negativity.
This is the best of the lot, a square drive for four more. England have made a flying start. If they get 500 today, I'm done.
Phil Long
BBC Test Match Special statistician
England have played Netherlands six times in ODI cricket and have won all six, including all three World Cup meetings. In their last meeting, England scored 498-4 with the bat, with Jos Buttler scoring 162 runs off 70 balls.
I did see Girls Aloud once. Student union, Manchester. I think someone threw a drink over me. Rowdy.
Logan van Beek shares new-ball duties. The first one is a dangerous yorker, which Malan does well to dig out. The next one is leggy and clipped for four, the next a half-volley driven for four more.
I'm not sure what other details I can give to you, Michael.

Girls aloud are reforming?! Tell me more! Cricket is secondary

Dutt has a slip. He's a tall bowler, gets plenty of bounce. He's bowling in a watch, which I'm not sure I enjoy. Do you need to know the time when slipping in your arm ball? Bairstow gets low to sweep a boundary, England's first runs of the day.

England should have thrown Harry Brook out in front of the media yesterday. He's playing well, he played well against Afghanistan. Why put Carl Hopkinson up? People back home may think it is trivial, but England need to front up.

Bad has to be the teeming rain. Getting soaked on the way to work definitely didn't kick it off well; here's hoping that a nice 80-0 PowerPlay for England whilst I follow with a sausage roll and a coffee can be the Good

Here come Dawid Malan and Jonny Bairstow. Off-spinner Aryan Dutt has opened the bowling a lot for the Dutch during this tournament and will do so again.

Ben Stokes has bowled quite a bit of off-spin out in the middle today. I suppose he has to keep his body ticking over, but he hasn't bowled for months and months.
It's a bit murky as the players line up for the anthems. I'd say England have won this battle. Much more gusto in the singing. The Dutch orange kit is miles better, though. Obvs.

Well, I can smell a fastest 100, and a highest ODI score, just not sure which team

I'll be honest, this one hasn't dragged the crowds to Pune just yet. Plenty of empty seats.
However, I can point you in the direction of this magnificent interview with Roelof van der Merwe.
He's comfortably my favourite player at this tournament.

Omnishambles: Ravi Shastri calls it the European derby, but why not a Euro Championship. Bit like the six nations. England, Ireland, Scotland, Netherlands. Maybe Iceland

Before this tournament, you would have looked at this game and said England should be targeting 450-500. Now, you would be hoping for 300 or 310. It's a remarkable turn of fortunes.
If you look at this side, you've got world class players. Jonny Bairstow, world class. Dawid Malan, Mr Consistent. Joe Root, world class. Ben Stokes, world class. Those four would probably make England's all-time ODI top six.
Glenn Maxwell yesterday scoring 201 vs Afghanistan is more runs than any England player has managed in this whole World Cup.
As ever, we'll have this one covered from every angle. Test Match Special is live from Pune and you can listen right here, on 5 Sports Extra or via BBC Sounds.
We'll have in-play highlights and clips throughout the day, too. Read, watch and listen.
Back injuries and Girls Aloud nostalgia. I've just realised that I'm incredibly old.

I'll be honest, it's a mixed day for me. Bad - I seem to have pulled a muscle in my back. Good - Girls Aloud are reforming.
