  1. ouch!

    SA 162-4published at 33 overs

    Target 245

Oooh, that is nasty. Naveen-ul-Haq does brilliantly to save a certain boundary from David Miller, who absolutely nails one to him at mid-wicket.

It gets him sharply on the wrist, right on the bone, and that is very painful. He goes off straight away, which is a concern for Afghanistan because he's only bowled four of his overs so far.

Both Rassie van der Dussen and David Miller could do with a big innings here, give themselves a bit of confidence in a chase.

The former has played very confidently so far for his 44.

At times today, Rassie van der Dussen has looked like he's batting with a door!

That came right out of the middle.

All timing from Rassie van der Dussen. There was a sweeper out there but he had absolutely no chance of cutting that off.

  5. SA 158-4published at 32 overs

    Target 245

    Beautifully placed.

Rassie van der Dussen carves Mohammad Nabi through the covers for four.

They take seven from the over easily to keep ahead of the run rate.

Rashid Khan only has two overs left and that could prove crucial. The star man has 2-31 so far.

  7. SA 151-4published at 31 overs

    Target 245

Nice recovery from Mujeeb, just another single coming from the rest of the over.

South Africa need 94 to win from 114 balls. It sounds easy, but they seem to have a knack of making things very tricky for themselves.

  8. SA 150-4published at 30.2 overs

    Target 245

    Too kind, Mike, thank you.

And I'm greeted by an exemplary cover drive from David Miller, perfectly picking the gap on the off side for his first boundary.

  9. SA 145-4published at 30 overs

Still no change in Afghanistan attack as Rashid Khan enters his eighth over.

Typically exemplary, it goes for just a single as Van der Dussen pushes into the leg side.

Right, that's me done for tournament, I'll trudge to the boundary with a raise of my bat. And speaking of typically exemplary, here's Ffion Wynne to see you through to the end of the match.

I still think you'd rather be in South Africa's position but Afghanistan definitely have a sniff.

  11. SA 144-4published at 29 overs

Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad have been bowling in tandem since the 17th over now, the spinners racing through the overs in this innings.

Four runs from this one, with Miller taking a two into the off side.

  12. SA 140-4published at 28 overs

New batter David Miller sees off two deliveries before running a leg bye off Khan's final delivery.

The South African batter hasn't had a bad tournament but he'll be disappointed that his high score is just 53. A lot of decent starts and no big scores in there.

Just a fraction fuller from Rashid Khan, noticing that Klaasen had been going back to give himself some more time. It didn't turn too much, it was just the pace and the length.

    Excellent skills from Rashid.

    Game on!

  15. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 27.3 overs

    Klaasen b Rashid Khan 10 (SA 139-4)

Well, if that was the attack it hasn't gone well!

Slightly fuller delivery from Rashid Khan, Klaasen tries to chop him away through point and can't quite get in position, the ball beats the bat and crashes into the stumps.

South Africa remain favourites, but Afghanistan keep taking these periodic wickets...

  16. SA 139-3published at 27 overs

Two this time for Klaasen, easing Noor Ahmad down to long off. All rather soporific at present.

Heinrich Klaasen does like a big hit, how long can he resist going on the attack?

  17. SA 134-3published at 26 overs

Van der Dussen and Klaasen push Rashid Khan to the sweepers down the ground for a single apiece, before the Afghanistan spinner sends down four dot balls.

The spinner is 1-30 from six overs.

They always look like they have the game under control but then Afghanistan manage to sneak a wicket in.

If these two can just knock it around for another 40 runs or so, it will look a lot easier.

South Africa are still in a very good position but knowing their chasing struggles, this is a big partnership.

  20. SA 132-3published at 25 overs

Short from Noor Ahmad and Heinrich Klaasen gets the chance to do what he does best, dispatching the ball for four through mid-wicket.

It sat up nicely and was sent away to the ropes with just a couple of bounces.
