We've seen so many 1999 replays. If South Africa get to 213, Australia tie it, then South Africa win the super over, all of their demons will be exorcised.

  2. SA 154-6published at 39 overs

Back to pace as Mitchell Starc, who was deadly in the powerplay, returns.

And he's greeted by a glorious cover drive for four from Gerald Coetzee. Shot.

That was a hoik that he dragged across the line. I think Coetzee will try to target Maxwell.

  4. SA 149-6published at 38 overs

A bit of a slog from Gerald Coetzee but an effective one, clubbed over mid-wicket for four.

A run-out chance after a quick single from the last ball but Miller's dive is a good one.

  5. SA 141-6published at 37 overs

Somehow, South Africa are in the territory of just "seeing off Travis Head's overs" and whack the rest.

Needs to add a few more to this highlights reel, but he's looked in very good touch.

That's the first one Maxwell has dragged down and Miller only had one man to beat at mid-wicket.

  8. SA 139-6published at 36 overs

Too short from Glenn Maxwell and David Miller pounces. Thrashed through mid-wicket for four valuable runs.

The man of the moment. Not sure many of us would've predicted it would be him.

  10. SA 134-6published at 35 overs

    Oh, a beauty.

Travis Head gets one to turn and bounce past Miller's defence and just shaves off stump.

How on earth has he come so unplayable?!

  11. SA 133-6published at 34.1 overs

That's more like it! Gerald Coetzee thrashes Travis Head through the covers for four.

I think 220 will be a tough chase. We've seen the pitch turn more and more.

  13. SA 129-6published at 34 overs

The seamers were unplayable in the first 10 overs.

Now the spinners are causing havoc. Just the two singles off a testing Glenn Maxwell over.

The wicket of Klaasen was so innocuous. He just played inside the line. Then Jansen was a big spinner. The partnership between Klaasen and Miller was looking so dangerous.

Weirdly, David Miller has been pretty confident in whacking the other spinners out of the park.

  16. SA 127-6published at 33 overs

Is this Travis Head or Shane Warne?

The part-timer has got the ball turning square as Miller and Cotezee prod and poke their way through another over.

    SA 125-6

An important knock for David Miller under pressure.

He clubs a short ball from Glenn Maxwell to the boundary to reach his half-century from 69 balls.

He has had starts throughout the tournament without really kicking on. South Africa need him to go on to three figures here if they are to put any kind of pressure on Australia.

You can forgive the collapse at the start of South Africa's innings because it was just fantastic bowling and fielding, piling on the pressure.

But to lose two in an over to Travis Head? Nah.

Is this what happens to South Africa when they don’t have Handre Pollard of the Springboks to pull them out of trouble?
