At work, grinding away while reading some of the comments. Everyone saying they’ve chocked. 20 overs gone people, 30 to go let’s not write them off just yet.

Glenn Maxwell is coming into the attack now. He's had good success against right-handers so far in this tournament.

But South Africa have done well since the restart, they've been watchful and waited for the bad balls.

The Glenn Maxwell fan club are in attendance at Eden Gardens.

They'll be pleased to see he has just been chucked the ball by Pat Cummins.

That just emphasises how quickly the outfield is. Nicely timed by Miller, plenty of bottom hand in that.

  5. SA 67-4published at 20 overs

Josh Hazlewood is whipped out the attack as Pat Cummins decides to save his two remaining overs for later in the innings.

Cummins decides to pick up the baton himself and purses his lips after he is a fraction full to David Miller, who nonchalantly flicks his fifth delivery the boundary through mid-wicket.

Was this the worst toss ever to win? Cummins would have batted…and Warner would lathered the ball to every corner.

Another good whack and the ball is turning into Miller so it is easier for him to hit with the spin over the leg side.

It's curious why Cummins has turned to Zampa here.

That was travelling! A fine blow from Miller.

Can we have our ball back, please?

Adam Zampa, sporty specs wrapped around his eyes, continues. They are definitely not Daniel Vettori-esque bins.

David Miller, collar turned up, seems much more comfortable against the Australian leg-spinner and once again biffs one given a bit of air by Zampa down the ground for six.

Miller has 25 off 28 balls. A semblance of a fightback from the Proteas.

Josh Hazlewood is just having a conversation with Pat Cummins and the wicketkeeper.

Given Hazlewood has only two overs left and Cummins has nine, I'd imagine that's the last we'll see of Hazlewood for a while.

David Miller has got a bit of a problem after being struck on the hand in that over.

  12. SA 55-4published at 18 overs

David Miller is getting some medical attention after being wrapped on the gloves in that last over from Josh Hazlewood.

David Warner, meanwhile, is dancing along to the music being belted out over the loudspeakers to the cheers of the ground at Eden Gardens.

PitchedOutsideLeg: I'm no Duckworth Lewis guru, but if the rain ends South Africa's dreadful innings, I've calculated Australia will need to score five runs to win. Pretty sure I've nailed that, but I'm 70 now, quite happy to be alternatively advised.

  14. SA 55-4published at 18 overs

Josh Hazlewood manages to churn through another maiden as the left-handed David Miller plays a waiting game with challenging deliveries outside his off stump.

Hazlewood does given him a potential scoring opportunity with a short delivery which Miller can only fend off with his gloves.

The Aussie seamer has a scarcely believable ODI figures of 2-12 from eight overs.

Australia are clearly hunting wickets with Josh Hazlewood continuing.

SA do like a choke but they have gone a little early even for them. They look like rabbits in headlights.

Adam Zampa tosses the ball from hand to the other, as leggies are predisposed to doing when they are plotting their variations.

David Miller decides to break free of the shackles and takes on a flighted ball from Zampa which he wallops down the ground for six. South Africa's first of the innings.

The air quality today is marked as "unhealthy" which is a nice change from what we had a couple of days ago, which told us not to go outside.

Maybe South Africa shouldn't have gone outside either!

JayRad: Two silly decisions from Bavuma so far then. The toss being one and playing himself the other. Hendricks should arguably be ahead of him based on form anyway…

  20. SA 46-4published at 16 overs

Heinrich Klaasen waggles his bat out at a delivery back of a length from Josh Hazlewood which prompts encouraging gasps from the Australia cordon.

A couple of balls later and it's a similar length from Klaasen, who wisely decides to leave on this occasion.

A maiden from Hazlewood. It's still very tricky conditions for batting.
