India often thrive at home but their top-order just weren't able to establish any sort of partnership or then adapt to the conditions or situation that they were in.

They probably have a brand of cricket they want to paly but they didn't fit with the situation they were in today.

Credit has to go to England for the areas they bowled in today.

You need the backing of the selectors and head coach. When Sophia Dunkley is out of touch she looks horrendously out of touch. There's no in-between for her.

When she's out of form it is almost like she's wafting a dish cloth around at the crease.

It wouldn't surprise me if she played a match-winning knock tomorrow in the third and final game.

England don't have much time to review their performance with the third and final match of the series coming tomorrow.

Sophia Dunkley will be hoping for a score after being dismissed for one and nine in the first two games.

With the series decided fringe players in the squad may also be hoping for a taste of action at the Wankhede Stadium.

Alice Capsey plays with a smile on her face. She's young, she's confident, she's got all the expansive shots. She carried on being aggressive, she didn't go into her shell and took a big chunk out of that total.

    Any positives for India?

Deepti Sharma took two wickets for four runs from her two overs. Renuka Singh also made an early breakthrough with two wickets at the top of the innings.

Not much to be said about the batting, to be honest.

England in the first game outstanding with the bat, in the second game outstanding with the ball. Hopefully in the final match they put it together and have the perfect match.

This Indian line-up, when you look at the names on paper you think they could be a really dangerous side but they haven't been at the races.

    Well, then.

England made that more difficult than it needed to be, but they lost four wickets towards the close knowing it was incredibly unlikely they'd lose the match. Perhaps a touch of complacency with some average shots leading to wickets, but they'd done the hard work already.

  10. 'We haven't played a perfect game yet'published at 16:10 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2023

England batter Alice Capsey: "It didn't go to plan at the end but the main thing is we got over the line and secured the series.

"We're delighted. We still haven't played a perfect game of cricket yet, which is really exciting. India are a strong side and we're looking forward to going again tomorrow.

"Charlie Dean was brilliant. To come in and start with a wicket in the first over and to get Mandhana who's a dangerous player. Our three spinners put in the work and the seamers followed up.

"I think half the girls were in Oman and half were at the WBBL, so we're not short of cricket. There was a real buzz with everyone back together."

  11. England win the T20 seriespublished at 11.2 overs

That's that! Ecclestone advances down the ground and attempts to send the ball down the ground, succeeding instead in sending a ball looping back over slip.

The fielder gives chase but seems to struggle and the ball dribbles away for a winning boundary.

England win by four wickets and take this three-match T20 series with one game to play.

Two more runs for Ecclestone, slipping the ball into mid-wicket.

Well, this is unexpected! Deepti Sharma is working miracles for India.

Two wickets in two balls and she’s targeting the stumps with some venom.

    Sharma takes Ecclestone's edge!

...but it's the underside of the bat and it runs away for two.

    Yes, that's gone!

Three reds on DRS, Kemp departs and this is a bit of a frantic end to the chase from England.

Deepti Sharma is on a hat-trick. Here comes Sophie Ecclestone.

Freya Kemp is out first ball! She's trapped lbw by Deepti Sharma.

    Or is she?

After a chat with captain Heather Knight she's decided to send it upstairs.

    Jones c Vastrakar b Sharma 5 (Eng 73-5)

Well, I said Amy Jones doesn't like to hang about... she's already heading back to the pavilion.

She reverse sweeps straight to the waiting Pooja Vastrakar. A slightly rueful smile crosses her lips before she leaves the crease.

  19. Eng 73-4published at 10 overs

Amy Jones is the new batter and she doesn't like to hang about - she finished England's innings on Wednesday with a smart 23 from nine.

She rattles off consecutive twos from her first two deliveries and England are under ten away.

  20. wicket

    Capsey c sub b Ishaque 25 (Eng 68-4)

That, I believe, is the dictionary definition of "snaffled".

Capsey goes for the same lofted drive Knight had success with two balls earlier, but is a little too close to the sub fielder Amanjot Kaur and she takes a fantastic one-handed catch at full stretch diving to her left.

She had very little time to react, a superb catch.
