The skipper is out! Start the Tuk Tuk. This is utterly miserable for England but excellent bowling from Pooja Vastrakar who can seemingly do no wrong.

The seamer nabs her third wicket in just 2.3 overs by finding a bit more movement off the pitch to take Heather Knight's edge.

Yastika Bhatia does the rest behind the stumps.

England's response to the first innings is clearly to try to sweep everything in sight. Danni Wyatt is almost bowled as she does so.

Yep, missing by about a foot.

Harmanpreet Kaur needs to think about her post-career options because umpiring is not one of them.

This one has hit Knight in line. Height might be an issue...

    Has Deepti Sharma struck already?

It's Heather Knight being hit on the pad on the sweep...

  6. Postpublished at 05:06 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2023

I wondered how long it would be until Deepti Sharma came on to bowl. Remember she took 5-7 in the first innings.

Danni Wyatt was her first victim then and is on strike now.

The India bench is looking up at the big screen in bemusement. Even England coach Jon Lewis responds with a surprised shrug.

That just shows how much movement seamer Pooja Vastrakar is finding off what is supposed to be a seamer's pitch.

Woah! It's jagging back and missing leg.

I did not see that coming.

    Danni Wyatt survives.

    Here's another one, surely?

Danni Wyatt reviews an lbw decision but she knows she's out I fear.

    Knight 19, Wyatt 6

Renuka Singh Thakur has, perhaps understandably, got a little excited here. Twice she goes in search of the magic inswinger and is clipped to the boundary by Heather Knight. Knight puts another away through the off side too.

At least the scoreboard is moving, unlike the first innings.

Wyatt takes two more to end the over.

There are some school kids in the ground chanting support for the hosts.

The three wickets fell for just 10 runs and all went to seam rather than spin.

    Driven for four by Wyatt!

    She didn't read the script.

Danni Wyatt will face the hat-trick ball...

  14. wicket

    Sciver-Brunt b Vastrakar 0 (Eng 37-3)

Nat Sciver-Brunt is bowled first ball! This could now end very quickly.

It's a lovely ball from Pooja Vastrakar - a tough one to get first up. Sciver-Brunt's off stump is knocked out of the ground.

    Dunkley c sub (Deol) b Vastrakar 15 (Eng 37-2)

There's another one gone! The slide is under way as Sophia Dunkley smacks a cut shot straight to backward point.

It only took seamer Pooja Vastrakar three balls to strike.

Australia are in a dominant position after reducing Pakistan to 203-6 at lunch on day three of the first Test.

After posting 487 in their first innings, home side took four wickets on the third morning to press home their advantage.

Pakistan resumed on 132-2 but soon lost nightwatchman Khurram Shahzad, bowled by Pat Cummins.

Imam-ul-Haq and Babar Azam put on 48 for the fourth wicket but both fell late in the session.

Mitch Marsh removed Babar for 21 and Imam was stumped off Nathan Lyon having made a patient 62 bowled Mitchell Starc bowled Sarfaraz Ahmed.

Harmanpreet Kaur is many things. A good reviewer is not one of them.

Knight does not look worried as she watches on the big screen and her relaxed manner is justified. It was indeed outside the line and is a pretty poor review.

  19. India reviewpublished at 8.4 overs

This feels like a waste from India. They have gone up for an lbw review but I am pretty sure Heather Knight was outside the line.

This is the test for England now. Can they dig in to halt the momentum now the India fielders are up? They were blown away once things went awry in the first innings.

Heather Knight has to wait for her first ball as Sophia Dunkley survives an over of Sneh Rana's spin.
