Just took the dog out, got hit by a torrential hail shower and England took a wicket. Omen or not, I don’t fancy repeating it just for a wicket.

Two of England's Bens - Foakes and Stokes - come together at the end of Tom Hartley's quiet first over. How do England keep the pressure on in these 25 minutes before tea?

Another day, another Yashasvi Jaiswal fifty.

Rehan Ahmed is younger than Shoaib Bashir so that age gap was bigger in the last Test but, yes, the JimBash/Basherson combo is up there.

    The 20-year-old is bowling nicely.

What's the largest age gap between wicket takers in the same innings of a Test match? Surely the 21 years between Jimmy and Bashir must be up there.

Anderson continues despite Tom Hartley's extended absence from the attack.

England clearly want to make the most of the tiniest bit of movement this ball is offering.

Anderson sneaks one onto Patidar's pads - it was going down leg - while the right-hander gets one away through gully. We'll give that over as 2-1 to Patidar.

Hartley to Patidar is worth a go. He dismissed him twice last week.

Shoaib Bashir clearly has a bit about him. He's got his collar turned up and a chain dangling around his neck. Completely superficial, I know, but it exudes confidence.

Just joining us? We've got you covered.

England added 49 runs to their overnight total before being bowled out for 353.

Ollie Robinson reached 58, his first Test fifty, before he gloved behind a reverse sweep to end his century partnership with Joe Root.

The only frustration was that England's last three wickets departed for six runs, with Shoaib Bashir playing a wild slog and James Anderson lbw on the sweep to leave Joe Root left stranded on 122 not out.

India faced a tricky 45 minutes before lunch and James Anderson struck to remove Rohit Sharma, but then England were thwarted by a stand of 82 between Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill.

Gill was lbw to Bashir for 38 and Jaiswal survived a caught behind chance, with replays showing the ball bouncing just before Ben Foakes' gloves - though England did not think so.

But Jaiswal has looked ominously good once more and the pitch looks nowhere near as tricky as yesterday morning.

Tom Hartley is still stuck down at fine leg rather than being in the attack. For the second time he makes a bit of a mess of some fielding to allow India a boundary.

Anderson has been the bowler on both occasions which won't have him feeling great.

India's new-ball bowlers got more out of this by hitting the pitch hard. England have been a bit floaty.

Ben Foakes groans after Rajat Patidar clips one close to Ollie Pope at short leg. It would have taken a miracle catch but I guess if anyone was going to provide that it would be Pope.

Jimmy Anderson is coming back again.

That's where you want to be, Ollie. Rajat Patidar is a little late getting behind one that keeps low on a middle stump line.

The right-handed Indian gets off the mark later in the over despite limited foot movement. The look on Robinson's face suggests he wasn't impressed with the shot.

Patidar made a decent 32 in his first innings on debut earlier in the series but has followed that with scores of nine, five and a duck.

Bashir keeps him tied down early with more good bowling.

Umpire's call on impact and clattering into leg stump! England have their breakthrough and it is provided by young Shoaib Bashir.

The ball hasn't really done much, Shubman Gill has just missed it playing around his pad.
