I think this game really has been a batting exercise for both sides.
The 620 by Glamorgan only losing three wickets but in response Middlesex getting 655, so that tells you really what it's all about.
The other positive is that Glamorgan were able to bowl Middlesex out - a positive for them.
In the whole game there hasn't been any huge margins, so everything is free in love and war and that's what we've had here.
Good for the spectators to actually see a first game with so many runs being scored and so many records being broken as well.
And above all not one drop of rain, so that has to be a big plus.
All in all, all credit to the two teams, the first game is not an easy game to play and Glamorgan had to really do it from behind, they lost the toss and nobody knew what was going to happen, they set the pace and having done so Middlesex were able to come into their own as well.

Honours even at Lord's, where Middlesex and Glamorgan batters certainly got their eyes in during the opening round of this year's County Championship.
Glamorgan's Sam Northeast scored a ground-record 335 not out and that was followed by Ryan Higgins' 221 for Middlesex.
Northeast finished on 14 not out in Glamorgan's second innings, so it's 349 runs without being dismissed for him. Pretty sure he'd have taken that before the start.

15 points is a good haul for an away game in the early season, in which Somerset in recent years have not done particularly well.
There have been plenty of plus points for Somerset in this game.
In the end, a combination of a placid pitch and a ball that goes soft around about 20 overs in proved too much for Somerset to be able to force the win.

It was Joe Denly really who snuffed out any remaining Somerset hopes by the way that he came in.
Kent were in trouble when he came in but took the attack to the bowlers, never looked in any real trouble and has seen Kent safely into home waters.

All over at Canterbury, where centuries by Daniel Bell-Drummond and Joe Denly have secured a draw for Kent against Somerset.
There will have been a few doubts creeping in when Somerset reduced Kent to 68-3 in their second innings just after lunch, still with a deficit of 51.
But experienced duo Bell-Drummond and Denly guided Kent to safety with a fourth-wicket stand of 222.

It's been a terrific effort by Sussex this afternoon to take the game as deep as they have.
They have been very positive since tea yesterday.
They have worked their way through the Northamptonshire order, whether they'll have enough time or not or if any bad weather will stay away long enough, we'll have to wait and see.
But it is certainly a final day that I don't think we really expected.
