    There it is.

Harry Brook returns to the red-ball game with a century. And it looked on from the very start.

He plays and misses on 99 before tucking Ben Mike down to fine leg for the single he needs.

The Leicestershire bowlers may not appreciate it, but it's great to have a player of Harry Brook's calibre appearing in county cricket.

He needed just 69 runs to reach the 12th ton of his first-class career with 14 fours and two sixes.

  4. rain stops play

Rain stops play at Edgbastonpublished at 15:23 British Summer Time 8 April

    Warwks 333 v Worcs 360 & 295-3

The rain has scuppered play again in the West Midlands.

The clouds are thick and grey and we have the full complement of covers on and around the square.

  5. Postpublished at 15:22 British Summer Time 8 April

    Sussex 478-9 dec v Northants 371 & 85-4

Double change for Sussex as Jayden Seales returns to the attack.

If the new ball pair can prize another one out in this spell then Northants could be in danger of defeat in the final session.

Seales hurries Keogh immediately but there's enough width for Keogh to leave the ball.

He gets two runs pushed to mid on.

Seales fields off his own bowling to stop a drive down the ground.

  6. Brook on 99published at 15:19 British Summer Time 8 April

    Yorkshire 261-6 v Leicestershire 354

    Harry is one away.

  7. Postpublished at 15:17 British Summer Time 8 April

Rob Keogh is forward to the third ball, pushing it into the off side for one.

Luke Procter is stuck in the crease late on a defensive shot. He survives.

  8. wicket

WICKET Thompson lbw b Mike 0published at 15:16 British Summer Time 8 April

    Yorkshire 254-6 v Leicestershire 354

Two wickets in the over for Ben Mike! He now has 4-42.

If Jordan Thompson had connected with that, it would have been dispatched miles over the midwicket.

He didn't and it crashed into his pads...

Thompson was close to being out second ball and departs two balls later for a duck.

  9. Postpublished at 15:13 British Summer Time 8 April

    Sussex 478-9 dec v Northants 371 & 82-4

Rob Keogh is on the counter-attack with successive fours off the bowling of Jack Carson.

The first and second are both square. A third is confidently reverse swept. That's the way to remove those close catchers.

Keogh gets a single off the fourth ball and Procter pulls a half tracker square for four more.

19 runs off the over in all. The gap is down to 25.

  10. 200 runs

He bowls outside off and Luke Procter leaves. Maiden over.

  13. Tea at Edgbastonpublished at 15:06 British Summer Time 8 April

    Warwks 333 v Worcs 360 & 295-3

If we're very lucky with the weather, play will resume after an early tea at 15:20 BST.

  14. Six shy of centurypublished at 15:05 British Summer Time 8 April

    Yorkshire 248-4 v Leicestershire 354

Harry Brook hits England colleague Rehan Ahmed for four and then comfortably picks up one more.

    He moves up to 93.

And another single to end the over after Jonny Tattersall had got a single too.

    Six away from 100.

  15. Postpublished at 15:03 British Summer Time 8 April

    Sussex 478-9 dec v Northants 371 & 62-4

Luke Procter misses a sweep off Jack Carson and the loud lbw shout is turned down. Leg bye taken. Possibly missing leg? Close though.

This is very much behind the sofa viewing for Northants fans.

  16. Brook into the eightiespublished at 15:01 British Summer Time 8 April

    Yorkshire 239-4 v Leicestershire 354

Harry Brook is leaning on his bat in the eighties.

Meanwhile at the other end, Jonny Tattersall hits gorgeous back-to-back boundaries.

The strokeplay from the Yorkshire batters today has been a delight.

  17. Postpublished at 15:01 British Summer Time 8 April

    Sussex 478-9 dec v Northants 371 & 60-4

Weather permitting there are still 57 overs left in this game and Northants need a partnership to guide them to safety.

Rob Keogh gets his second run with a neat flick to fine leg for one.

Procter drives the last ball and gets an inside edge through to square leg for a single.

  18. 50 runs

for Daniel Bell-Drummondpublished at 15:00 British Summer Time 8 April

    Kent 284 & 186-3 v Somerset 403

Daniel Bell-Drummond joins Joe Denly in reaching a half-century.

It hasn't always been pretty, but he's pretty much assured his side a draw in this match at Canterbury - barring a ridiculous afternoon batting collapse by the hosts.

  19. 'A tremendous start to the season for Essex'published at 14:57 British Summer Time 8 April

    Essex 253 & 374-9 dec beat Notts 293 & 80 by 254 runs

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham

A tremendous start to the season for Essex as Sam Cook is given the ball by the umpires and pushed to the front to lead his side off by the rest of his team-mates.

Notts in the end have been well and truly thrashed in numerical terms. They competed up until the start of day four but it's been one way traffic today.
