England were trying to force it, they made a lot of mistakes and were definitely under pressure. It was good to see them recover but they have a lot of questions to ask.

  2. Postpublished at 16:13 British Summer Time 11 May

Dani Gibson finished unbeaten on 41 from 21, backed handily by Sophie Ecclestone with 21 from 11.

That seventh wicket partnership was worth 44 from 29, while Amy Jones and Heather Knight added 67 from 59 balls for the fifth wicket.

Two crucial pairings that rebuilt the England innings.

We should be taking a lot of faith from this moving forward, they can take this memory if they win, they almost had a world record loss against a team they never lose to.

Just a single from the final ball of the innings, Gibson sending the ball down to long-off.

A decent recovery from England, who - let's not forget - were 11 for 4 after 2.5 overs. Pakistan now face their highest ever chase if they want to take the win in the opening match of the series.

  5. Eng 162-6published at 19.5 overs

Sadia Iqbal holds England to two singles from her next three deliveries, before Gibson plays a wristy reverse sweep to send the over's penultimate delivery to the boundary.

  6. Eng 156-6published at 19.1 overs

Oh dear, a mix-up between converging fielders on the mid-wicket boundary sees Dani Gibson's shot cross the ropes from the first ball of Sadia Iqbal's over.

  7. Eng 152-6published at 19 overs

The scoreboard says Pakistan are nine minutes behind the required time - that's pretty slow going.

Fatima Sana bowls the penultimate over, Gibson times the seamer nicely to the square boundary before Ecclestone clips her final delivery in a similar direction to bring up the England 150.

This partnership is worth 33 off 19 balls.

This is a very big innings for Dani Gibson. England's number seven spot has caused them a bit of a headache recently, and from an all-rounder point of view (when Sciver-Brunt is back), it is probably between Gibson and Freya Kemp.

She is making a statement here.

Disappointing for Gull, but Pakistan have had so many chances like that today, they can't catch all of them

  10. Eng 142-6published at 18 overs

Lovely stuff from Dani Gibson, sweeping Rameen Shamim for four and then finding a tiny gap in the covers to reach the ropes again.

Two overs to go, time to swing for 160 plus?

    Put down!

Gull Feroza has taken two high catches today but she puts down the chance of a third as Ecclestone skied the ball to long-on.

    That was pretty regulation.

  12. Eng 131-6published at 17 overs

Another four for Ecclestone, clouting Fatima Sana to the cover boundary.

Tuba Hassan ran round from long off but seemed to mis-judge the flight of the ball, initially running forwards before turning to try and meet the ball at the boundary. If she'd stuck to the ropes then she might have stopped it.

We need these two to carry on the momentum that the rest of the team has created, it would be unfortunate for them to not reach that 150 mark. This game has not gone the way they wanted it to.

  14. Eng 123-6published at 16 overs

Sophie Ecclestone arrives at number eight and immediately cleaves a high full toss over the long-off boundary.

Big moment for Tuba Hassan, she's been under pressure, the batters looking to attack her but she's been able to keep her composure getting her second wicket of the day. England were threatening to run away, this Pakistan team have been able to keep themselves in the game.

    Knight c Gull b Tuba 49 (Eng 119-6)

No fifty for the England captain!

She moves to 49 with a slogged baseball-style shot through the long-on boundary, and skies Tuba Hassan's next delivery and the ball drops into the hands of Gull Feroza at mid-on.

She'll be hugely disappointed not to see England through to the close of the innings.

  17. Eng 111-5published at 15 overs

Knight brings up the England hundred, lifting Fatima Sana over the covers for four.

Gibson closes the over with her own boundary, tucking the ball away past a short fine leg.

A quarter of the innings to go.

I was thinking about where England go from now, maybe aim for 150, seven an over. They have recovered before, they do have that depth.

  19. Eng 98-5published at 14 overs

Another full toss and this one reaches the boundary, Knight playing a controlled shot to send Nida Dar's delivery backward of square.

The England batters exchange singles before Knight takes consecutive twos on the sweep.

England have come to realise that Pakistan have come a long way and they have options now. Dar has moved down the pecking order, they don't need her to open.
