  1. Eng 86-5published at 13 overs

Dani Gibson starts her innings with a bang, striking Sadia Iqbal for back-to-back fours.

She uses her wrists to cleverly steer fuller deliveries through gaps at the boundary at third and backward point.

Sadia Iqbal has been excellent when opening because she's bee so consistent, it was a surprise to Jones. Pakistan have been so consistent with catching, poor with their ground fielding but they've kept their eye on the ball when it's been in the air.

    Jones departs!

Sadia Iqbal drops a looping full toss on the England batter, who lifts the ball into the hands of Natalia Parvaiz on the boundary.

The England keeper won't reach 50 in her hundredth T20 international.

  4. Eng 77-4published at 12 overs

England make the most of their reprieve, Knight takes the single to bring Jones on strike and she hits consecutive fours on the sweep to close Dar's over.

The first is conventional, reaching the ropes behind square, the second on the reach but getting enough to power on the shot to fire the ball through mid-wicket.

  5. Not outpublished at 15:26 British Summer Time 11 May

    Knight survives!

Both pitching and impact is outside off, huge relief for England.

  6. Umpire reviewpublished at 11.1 overs

Knight's given out on the field!

She tries to play the reverse sweep off Nida Dar's off-spin and is struck above the knee on her bent back leg.

    She's sent it upstairs, understandably.

  7. Eng 66-4published at 11 overs

Tuba Hassan rattles through her over.

She delivers a meaty full-toss that Jones tries to club down the ground, but can only find the boundary fielder.

They've been good in the field Pakistan, high energy. Let's see if they can hold their composure and stick with their plan as there's always the danger that England could run away with it

Smart, you can see they know exactly where the gap is. They're hitting perfectly between where the gap between the fielders are.

  10. Eng 63-4published at 10 overs

It's Amy Jones's turn for consecutive fours, whacking Rameen Shamim through mid-wicket before going squarer as she plays a lovely sweep shot that sees the ball race across the outfield and to the ropes. That brings up the fifty partnership from 39 balls.

The off-spinner changes her field and tightens her line a little and the next four balls go for two singles.

This is not where England would have wanted to be at half-way, but there's been crumbs of comfort in this partnership. Can this pair go on to post a respectable total?

  11. Eng 53-4published at 9 overs

    Fifty up for England!

It's Knight again, lifting leggie Tuba Hassan's final delivery expertly down the ground for four to bring up the landmark.

  12. Eng 46-4published at 8 overs

    Back-to-back fours for Heather Knight!

Rameen Shamim enters the Pakistan attack and the England captain lifts the off-spinner over the cover ring before dropping to her knee to slog-sweep through backward square.

This partnership is now worth 35, small signs of a fightback from the hosts.

The noise that followed those two boundaries tells you all you need to know. It sounded like the crowd was surprised.

It's been shambolic, but Pakistan's fielding also needs to be credited and shows how much they have improved. Maybe two or three years ago, they'd have dropped a couple of those catches and not had the game awareness for the run out.

I feel for Freya Kemp, however. Back in the side after a long absence with injury and promoted to number five, having to come in at 11-3 - could England have sent in the experienced Jones ahead of her, given the situation?

  14. Eng 38-4published at 7 overs

Ah, Waheeda Akhtar is being bowled out.

Jones lofts her third delivery to the ropes, picking the short ball and striking with confidence for a one-bounce four at mid-wicket.

She picks up two more from a miss-field at cover, before a couple more singles close Akhtar's spell. She finishes with figures of 4-1-20-2.

This is England's second-lowest score against Pakistan in T20 internationals.

Waheeda Akhtar's maiden was only the third against England in the last six years.

  16. Eng 29-4published at 6 overs

Pakistan introduce the seam bowling of Fatima Sana for the final over of the powerplay.

Amy Jones chases a ball that's verging on an off-side wide and the ball squeezes down to the fielder at third.

She plays a more controlled shot to finish the over, clipping the ball smartly through mid-wicket for four.

It is not good. England will be really disappointed with this start.

All four wickets were mistakes. It is a issue we saw last summer - adjusting to slower bowlers - and that is what they will face at the World Cup this year in Bangladesh.

It's been an absolute frantic start to this match. Here's the first three England wickets to fall.

  19. Eng 21-4published at 5 overs

A single apiece for Knight and Jones as England edge towards the end of the powerplay - one more over to go.

Waheeda Akhtar has 2-11 from her first three overs - you'd expect her last over to be held back for the close of the innings, but with so many wickets falling when will that come?
