  7. Clifford and O'Connor in the running for Player of the Yearpublished at 18:33 British Summer Time 27 July

    FT: Donegal 0-19 Kerry 1-26

The GAA Social panel nominate their footballer of the year:

Sarah Mulkerrins: David Clifford, the obvious answer. Just because of his performance over the last couple of games. He has meant business this year and been on a different level.

Philly McMahon: Who do I want to win? (Joe) O'Conor. Who do I think will win? (David) Clifford.

Conor McManus: David Clifford. What's he scored in the championship this year? 8-62, nine points today all from play in a game when there was so much pressure, but he delivered again.

Oisin McConville: Definitely an honourable mention for Joe O'Connor who has transformed this team in many ways and been the missing link they've needed. But for me, David Clifford because he's brought it to a level and brought it to beyond that.

Donegal had too many players underperform. Losing (Ciaran) Thompson early on was a massive blow as well

  9. Kerry captain White 'can't put it into words'published at 18:11 British Summer Time 27 July

    FT: Donegal 0-19 Kerry 1-26

Kerry captain Gavin White, speaking to the GAA Social Live: "Very emotional. There were serious questions asked of the team this year, so to go out and captain them today... You could put an armband on anyone out there as there are serious leaders. It's difficult to put it into words."

On lifting Sam: "It's very special. To captain an All-Ireland team is highly special and I'm not sure it will sink in for a number of days. Maybe in years to come when I hang up the boots, I may only then look back at the magnitude of it."

On Kerry's flying start: "I think we went out in the first 15 minutes to make our experience count and made an unbelievable start. It was an ambition to set the tempo from the start."

On Donegal: "We were under no illusions how good a team they are as they've shown it all year. We tried to shut out the background noise, but we just focussed on ourselves, looked at Donegal's strengths and weaknesses and went from there."

On manager Jack O'Connor potentially stepping down: "I wasn't aware of that, but I'll have to have a chart with him tonight and try to twist his arm a small bit."

  10. O'Shea hails manager O'Connorpublished at 18:01 British Summer Time 27 July

    FT: Donegal 0-19 Kerry 1-26

Kerry forward, Sean O'Shea speaking to the GAA Social: "Every Division One team and a couple of Division Two teams are realistically thinking they can win it. As soon as the season starts and you get down to it, it's not mentioned.

"We were big this year on one training at a time, one game and one performance at a time and that's how we worked it."

On the criticism after the Meath defeat: "We know the history and tradition of Kerry football and we don't ignore that. It means so much to us to come out today and represent where we're from. The support we've got since the Cavan game has been unbelievable and that's shown in our performances: the attitude, intensity and passion we've played with since we got to Croke Park."

On manager, Jack O'Connor: "He's a man you want in your dressing room. It's experience. He knows what needs to be done and he's so good after a game noticing two games we didn't do well we need to bring into the next game. The Meath game was the big turning point in our season. We did so much wrong you could have went down a rabbit hole, but we just went after the big blocks of getting the basics right and he guided us through those choppy waters. It gives you fierce confidence."

Croke Park is beginning to empty as Kerry bask in the glow of another All-Ireland title.

It was a superb display from Jack O'Connor's men and after the disappointment of 2023 against Dublin, they are certainly enjoying this.

Paudie Cilfford was involved in everything good that Kerry done. It was a bit of a surprise that Donegal left him free for so long. If Donegal look back at that game it's something they would maybe do differently.

I think Kerry made a very serious statement of intent from throw-in. There was an energy about them and they created some anxiousness in the Donegal players. They left everything on that pitch today.

It will be interesting to see who is named man-of -the-match as Kerry had plenty of contenders.

David Clifford's nine points, including three two-pointers will put him in the frame, but so too will his older brother Paudie who was the conductor of the orchestra today.

Then there is team captain Gavin White who landed three points and had a hand in so many more.
