Ruairi Canavan's display will live long in the memory for those present at Pairc Esler and indeed those who watched the game from the warmth and conform of their living rooms.

The bottom line was that Canavan's 0-9 haul included five points from play with, in contrast, Clann Eireann's star forward Conor Turbitt's 1-2 coming from a penalty and two frees as he was curbed in opening play.

Clann Eireann's supporters will look back with huge regret on Tiernan Kelly's match-turning sending off in the 40th minute after the Armagh champions had looked to have taken control by moving three up.

But Canavan still had to kick the scores and the son of Peter the Great was simply irresistible as he swung over Errigal Ciaran's last four scores.

He came up with two majestic scores in stoppage time to drag his team over the line.

Clann Eireann will have massive regrets, coming up just short in their bid to reach a first ever Ulster final.
