The stewards have added Lance Stroll and Alex Albon to the naughty list. The Aston Martin and Williams drivers are being investigated after the session - like Daniel Ricciardo and Zhou Guanyu - for an unsafe release.

The gusty conditions have caused a few dicey slips and slides on track today. Williams team principal James Vowles is on the pit wall and tells Sky Sport: "If a car moves, you can't really tell if it's tyre movement or the wind."

  13. Postpublished at 15:49 British Summer Time 23 August

The track is packed with cars trying to gather as much data as possible, which is something Max Verstappen has noted, so he tells his Red Bull pit wall: "Can we box? There's traffic".

A few moments earlier, Daniel Ricciardo found the Sauber of Zhou Guanyu suddenly inching towards him as he tried to exit the pit lane. The incident is going to be investigated after the session for an unsafe release.

Pete Bonnington has some crucial information for Lewis Hamilton, telling the seven-time world champion that "Lando Norris is the best medium runner at the moment". The McLaren driver's latest lap on the C2 compound is a 1:15.338.

Lewis Hamilton has now joined his younger rivals on the medium tyres for some long runs.

We learned this week that his long-time race engineer, Pete Bonnington, will not be taking a permanent Italian vacation and joining Hamilton at Ferrari next season.

Instead, Bonnington has been promoted to head of race engineering at Mercedes.

Hamilton said the 49-year-old was "like a brother" and added: "I would have love to have continued with Bono.

"We have a great relationship, but I'm really happy for him. It's about doing whatever's best for you."

Red Bull and McLaren have ditched the soft tyres for Max Verstappen and Lando Norris and the pair have now turned their attention to some race pace simulations on the medium compound.

George Russell is throwing his Mercedes around the speedy Zandvoort circuit, but the 26-year-old might have to be a bit more careful. "Just check the floor after exit kerb, erm...Turn 13," he tells his pit wall.
