That was a great job by McLaren, that was more nerve-wracking than everybody on that pit wall would have wanted but they got the job done.

Oscar Piastri is on for his third win in Formula 1 from his maiden pole position. The other McLaren of Lando Norris could be sweating here under the attack of George Russell's Mercedes. Can he hold on to that P2? I think he can...

I didn't expect Haas to be almost the best of the rest of the cars, especially given their pre-season and round one.

With Charles Leclerc ticked off the to-do list, does Max Verstappen have any time left to challenge the Mercedes of George Russell?

Towards the back of the field, Jack Doohan is being hassled by the Racing Bulls of Isack Hadjar. But the Frenchman doesn't need to push too hard, as the Australian is in possession of a 10-second penalty. Doohan is 14th and Hadjar is 15th.

Lando Norris is being given information by his engineer Will Joseph to try and ease the situation with his brakes. It doesn't look like this will cause the championship leader too many issues as we head towards the end of this Chinese Grand Prix.

[On Lando Norris' radio about his brakes] Basically the amount of travel you've got to use with your foot it feels like you're having to press the brake pedal harder, firmer and longer to get the same stopping potential from the car.

As a driver you want something that is consistent and it's a little bit alarming when you notice significant brake wear.

Yuki Tsunoda comes in for some repairs to his front wing, but it looks like he didn't make contact with anyone. All very confusing from the replays. Did part of it just fall off all on its own under braking?!

His team-mate Isack Hadjar did have a moment with Alpine's Jack Doohan, which race control has noted.

  17. 'Not good news for Tsunoda'published at 08:21 Greenwich Mean Time 23 March

This is not good news for Yuki Tsunoda, I wonder if that's through contact or whether there's been a bit of a malfunction with the front wing.

There's damage to the front wing of Racing Bulls of Yuki Tsunoda after the Japanese driver gets in to a tangle with the Alpine of Jack Doohan at Turn Two. Tsunoda, unlike Charles Leclerc, might not get away with this.

I still think Yuki Tsunoda can get towards the top 10, it just depends on whether other people's tyres fall off the cliff.
