Thanks Anon, just the sort of post I'm looking for.
James Maddison having a better goals per 90 ratio than Cole Palmer, or Cody Gakpo is unreal.
Like knowing Antony has more goals since the end of the transfer window than everyone at Manchester United combined.

James Maddison - constantly played out of position too far deep, constantly on bench even when fit and constantly first one subbed off by Ange. Always called inconsistent by own and rival fans. People say Kulusevski been best players this season etc. yet Maddison always performs when he actually plays in number 10 or part of front 3 and spurs top scorer this season, with a better goals per 90 than Cole palmer, Mbuemo, Cunha, Diaz, Gakpo etc etc
Man City v Liverpool (Sun, 16:30 GMT)
Liverpool boss Arne Slot on the effectiveness of midfielder Ryan Gravenberch not being as high in recent games: "There are only a few players in the world that can be a nine or 10 every single three days, and if you look at his age, he might eventually belong to those group of players. But he's not there yet - which is completely normal. And it also depends on the playing style of the opponent. So if you play Everton or Wolves, that's a completely different game to Aston Villa.
"I liked him yesterday much more than against Everton for example. It's not always as simple as the form of a player, or how many games as he played. But nine out of 10 times that's the easiest reason to give instead of diving in to it or looking at playing styles."
I ended up feeling really sorry for Wout Weghorst at Manchester United. Worked really hard but never looked like scoring.
OK, how about this for a new Get Involved?
Which player do you feel gets far too much unfair criticism from supporters? Who is a hidden unsung hero?

Its so easy to make one player the scapegoat, but there were chances before Nunez opportunity but the focus always go back to him which i feel is totally unjustified considering his workrate in general. I'm sure that missed chance will be in head but he can't afford to let it effect him given the importance of the next couple of games!!!!

Were Villa the better side last night?

The absolute disrespect to Villa. All the talk about Liverpool's misses? Villa had the ball in the net twice, only for marginal offsides, and had several close clear-cut misses themselves (Rodgers and Malen late on). Make no mistake, last night was a point gained for Liverpool against a tough Villa, who are unbeaten at home since August.

Man City v Liverpool (Sun, 16:30 GMT)
Liverpool boss Arne Slot on his message to Darwin Nunez: "You can miss a chance, but you can't miss out on work rate. That for me is a more important message because that's the life of a striker. And he knows. He will have probably missed a few chances in his career and he probably would've scored a few as well.
"It's part of the job of a number nine, or part of you life that you some times miss when people expect you to score. But it's not part of a number nine to then slow down in work rate - and that is something we will talk about."
Thanks Craig, nobody'll be able to question our work rate by the end of the day. So much content to come!
Right, we still have a few more lines to come from Arne Slot so stay tuned for that.
We also have a Lionesses news conference this morning, plus more reaction to Wednesday's games in the Champions League and build-up to tonight's Europa League matches before some Premier League news conferences after lunch.
Joe is back now to guide you through that little lot...

Although Nunez missed a sitter and some, so did Jota. The manager rolled the dice on who to bring on first, Nunez or Diaz, but personally, he should have started with either of those players and brought Jota on as an impact sub because he didn't look fit. At least with Nunez you get work rate.

Well Arne Slot actually questioned Darwin Nunez's work rate in today's news conference, saying he can cope with missed chances, but not missed work rate...
Aston Villa 2-2 Liverpool
'Managing minutes' is a phrase we've heard Arne Slot say over the past few games, but was the Dutchman right to take off goalscorer Trent Alexander-Arnold and forward Diogo Jota when Liverpool were picking up momentum? Granted, the pair are returning from respective injuries, but would waiting another, say, 10 minutes have made the difference?
In hindsight, bringing off Alexander-Arnold was a blessing, as his replacement Conor Bradley left the field injured.
Slot said in his news conference that he would be "very surprised" if Bradley was fit enough to play any part in their next two matches - at Manchester City on Sunday and at home to Newcastle on Wednesday.
Man City v Liverpool (Sun, 16:30 GMT)
Liverpool boss Arne Slot on what he is learning about his side as they push for the title: "I see mostly the same things; these players are able to play every three days at the best of their capabilities in terms of physique. So if you saw yesterday, Dominik Szoboszlai - what a work-rate for his third game in a row. To the last second he kept on running up and down.
"And that's the only thing I can ask for and that the fans can ask for. And then we are unlucky not to score our chances. That's football, unfortunately. But we can not accept that they don't give maximum effort.
"That's what they constantly do and that's what I assume they will do again. But you never know the outcome. The fixture list for us is now a few difficult games in row, but that's what you have to accept."

Can’t relate to any Liverpool fan trying to argue that last night was a point gained rather than two dropped given our history. 2018/2019 we drew two in a row against Leicester then West Ham. Again Liverpool fans tried to argue they were points gained only for us to lose the title on the final day by a single point. Had we won one of those two games, we could have literally not turned up for the other and still won the league by a point. Draws cost you the title more than losses do. Don’t be disillusioned by a draw simply because it's not a loss. If we beat City on Sunday I’ll concede last night was a good point. Big IF.

Man City v Liverpool (Sun, 16:30 GMT)
Liverpool boss Arne Slot on his side's missed chances: "Unfortunately, too many times this season we have missed chances. And what I mean by that is I don't think we've stolen many points. I always come back to the Chelsea game when maybe a draw was maybe a more fair result.
"But for every other game I think we got what we deserved, or we deserved more - and that is more of a thing for me than Arsenal playing on Saturday and we on Sunday."
Man City v Liverpool (Sun, 16:30 GMT)
More from Liverpool boss Arne Slot on Darwin Nunez: "I always truly believe it's the best to have Wataru Endo's mindset. And what I mean by that is for the whole season he just keeps on going, keeps on going and whenever we need him, he is ready.
"And that is difficult because there are not many players that can do this. So it's not about the chance for me, it's more about the 20 minutes afterwards that I want to talk to him about than about him missing a chance."
Man City v Liverpool (Sun, 16:30 GMT)
Liverpool boss Arne Slot on how he is supporting Darwin Nunez, after the striker's miss at Aston Villa: "I can accept every miss, especially from a player that has scored two very important goals against Brentford.
"In the game against Villa, I would prefer him to score, but the word 'chance' says it all - it's a 'chance. It's not 100% sure that the ball goes in.
"But what was a bit harder for me to accept was his behaviour after that chance. And by 'behaviour' I mean I think it got too much in his head and he wasn't the usual Darwin that works his *** off and makes sure he helps the team.
"I think he was too disappointed after missing that chance."
