Birthday boy Anthony will celebrate his 60th when he takes to the tarmac this weekend.

But it won't be just celebrations in his thoughts: his grandson Noah suffers from the genetic disorder Alagille syndrome which affects the liver, heart and kidneys.

"He has fought every day of his life and the outlook is not bright, but the family get on with their life," said Anthony.

"My son and his beautiful family are amazing. They make me very proud and I am doing this to make a difference."

The atmosphere is fun extremely exciting, riding down the mall and past the sights.

I've only done a mile or so now, but everyone's smiley and chatty.

There's so much that could be said about this strapping lunch, but the thing that really caught my eye was the fig rolls. I love a fig roll, haven't had one since I was mere snip of a lad.

I'm heading to the shops when this live text is finished...

To be frank, I imagine it takes an awful lot of practice before you can start front flipping over giant balls...

But the good news is we caught up with Danny to pick his brains on how to get started.

    Enjoy!

    #RideLondon

Today isn't the first day of RideLondon shenanigans, with thousands taking to the streets yesterday to enjoy hand cycling, including an elite handcycling grand prix, and a rather special BMX exhibition.

Leading that was Scottish trial cyclist Danny MacAskill. The stunts he can pull on a bicycle are insane. Here's a taster...

There's Danny, cycling directly at a large red ball.

He's crashed into it here. It looks like he's going over the handlebars.

He did go over the handlebars! It looks as though he's done it on purpose!

    You know what's coming next...

He does a flip, via an inflatable, and lands it. What a guy.

Geoff Whitington was 20 stone, on crutches, had type 2 diabetes and was in danger of losing his foot through Charcot foot - a serious complication of diabetes.

That's when his sons decided they needed to do something, dug his bicycle out of the shed and started getting him on the move.

Geoff went on to complete the RideLondon, external 100-mile ride last year and says to anyone "just set a goal and you can achieve most things".

Already the holder of four world records, Andrei Burton has broken three more this morning already.

He's beaten the record for the biggest vertical drop onto a target, notching 3.34m to beat the previous record of 3.3m.

He then managed 75 wheelie hops in 30 seconds to gazump the original record of 62.

And finally, Burton secured the highest bicycle side hop ever, 1.575m just edging out the record of 1.55m.

Unbelievable achievement - and the day is only just beginning!

People are out in their hundreds, riding around Buckingham Palace and up The Mall.

Cyclists of all ages are out,  some speeding past others on a relaxing breeze, whilst tourists are busy taking photos.

It does seem a very calm affair as people leisurely pass the sights of the city in their waves.
