Hello and welcome to live text commentary of stage two of the 2016 Tour de France.
Mark Cavendish surprised many pundits, and possibly even himself, on Saturday by winning the opening stage to take the race leader's yellow jersey for the first time in his career.
He may not hold on to it beyond today - more on that later - but it promises to be a special day for the 31-year-old 'Manx Missile'.
"There is no bigger icon in cycling than the yellow jersey," he said in the immediate aftermath of his win, adding: "I'm quite emotional."
Does this look like a man who said wearing the Tour de France's iconic yellow jersey was "never a career target".
