This time trial stage has left pundits guessing about who will benefit most.

It has elements that will favour the pure time triallists, but there will be a few all-rounders that will fancy a tilt at a decent time.

There are two climbs - right at the start and up to the finish.

It's certainly a test for the yellow jersey contenders one day after going up Mont Ventoux - especially those who jogged up part of it.

Seb Piquet from Tour de France race radio has spoken to BBC Radio 5 live about the atmosphere on today's stage.

"The Tour is a symbol of people linked together – families on the side of the road, old people and young people from every origin to enjoy the show and the summer of France.

"The atmosphere was very heavy at the start and finish this morning. There will be another minute of silence at the podium presentation. There is no music – it’s a completely different atmosphere from what we are used to at the Tour de France."

  13. Dumoulin startspublished at 13:51 British Summer Time 15 July 2016

Tom Dumoulin, who is handy on a time trial, is down the ramp and on the road.

The Dutchman is a world time trial bronze medallist in 2014 and you'll remember he won stage nine on this year's Tour.

  14. 'Subdued resignation'published at 13:47 British Summer Time 15 July 2016

    OJ Borg
BBC Radio 5 live presenter in France

I've been walking about the finish area and it is not obvious that there is a significantly heightened police presence.

Apart from the fact we were asked if we had any knives or guns on us at the bag check, it was business as usual.

If anything the mood was less one of panic and anger but more one of a subdued resignation. It's worth pointing out a number of ASO officials (Tour de France organisers) are wearing black armbands.

  15. Martin's progresspublished at 13:43 British Summer Time 15 July 2016

Tony Martin remains sixth as he comes through the second of the three timing checkpoints at 17.5km - he's now 41secs off the pace.

Disappointing news - for the man himself and spectators - as Thibaut Pinot withdraws from the Tour de France.

He's France's national time trial champion and would have been a contender on this stage.

The 26-year-old FDJ rider looked off the pace yesterday, getting dropped by the yellow jersey group a couple of times.

It turns out Pinot was ill, and this morning he called time on this year's Tour.

  19. 'Bags were searched more thoroughly'published at 13:26 British Summer Time 15 July 2016

    Rob Hatch
    BBC Radio 5 live commentator

"In practice not much has changed today. The only difference was we were asked if we had a weapon on us and our bags were searched more thoroughly. The organisers did consider the cancellation but the race continues in dignity."

  20. Tributes to Nice victimspublished at 13:21 British Summer Time 15 July 2016
