The Dutchwoman puts in another dig, forcing Ashleigh Moolman Pasio and Anna van der Breggen to up the tempo and follow.
Sure enough, Lucinda Brand is dropped, unable to stick with the pace of the favourites.
Ludwig is next in their sights, about 40 seconds up the road.

Ludwig has a lead of 55 seconds over them.

Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig drives on, with 5.5km to go of this climb and still holding an advantage of 1'24'' over the chasing peloton.
Margarita Garcia now attacks out of the bunch to close down the Dane.
The peloton can't leave Ludwig out there too long. The first attack comes from Amanda Spratt, bringing Ashleigh Moolman Pasio, Margarita Garcia and Anna van der Breggen with her.
Annemiek van Vleuten settles in and rides up to them, bringing the rest of the main group with her.
Ludwig is off the descent and onto the lower slopes of the Col de la Colombiere.
It's a first category climb - 7.5km at an average 8.5% gradient.
