  2. Pogacar loses Majka after Soler misses cutpublished at 13:13 British Summer Time 20 July 2022

Tadej Pogacar's task of reclaiming the yellow jersey was made even tougher before the start of today's stage.

After UAE Team Emirates lost, Marc Soler, on Tuesday - the Spaniard finishing fifteen minutes after the time cut having suffered with a stomach bug - they have now also lost a fourth rider in Rafal Majka.

Majka's chain snapped yesterday, and he sustained "a high-grade partial thickness tear of his right quadriceps muscle" as a result.

    A huge blow.

  3. Van Aert confirms green jersey: What's happening on the road?published at 90km to go

The peloton has been very active at the start of stage 17, as riders battle to make a breakaway group stick.

Neilson Powless, Chris Froome and even Tom Pidcock attempted moves, before Dylan van Baarle and Connor Swift managed to briefly sneak clear.

Of course, Wout van Aert went on the offensive as the intermediate sprint came into view to finish behind Jasper Philipsen - which means he has the green jersey all wrapped up so long as he can safely reach Paris from here.

It's fast and furious so far, with an average speed of 52km/h in the peloton.

  4. Houle's superb solo on Stage 16published at 13:04 British Summer Time 20 July 2022

Canada's Hugo Houle claimed his first Tour de France stage win with a brilliant solo ride to victory in Foix as the race returned to the high mountains at the start of the final week.

The 31-year-old Israel-Premier Tech rider became the first Canadian to win on the Tour since Steve Bauer in 1988.

Jonas Vingegaard retained the overall lead after holding off several attacks from defending champion Tadej Pogacar earlier in the day.

They finished together, along with Britain's Geraint Thomas, who remains in third place overall and strengthened his position on the podium.

  5. Prepare for Pyrenees fireworkspublished at 12:59 British Summer Time 20 July 2022

Jonas Vingegard managed to hold off Tadej Pogacar's attempts to steal back some time in the race for the yellow jersey on stage 16.

But will he manage to repeat that feat over the next two days?

The first of two big Pyrenean stages are upon us, with today's 129.7km stage 17 route taking the riders from Saint-Gaudens to a summit finish at Peyragudes.

Get comfortable. This is going to be good.
