    126.5km to go

There hasn't been much happening on the road - Tadej Pogacar punctured but that didn't stop him smiling - but we have just had a welcome bit of action when Sunday's stage winner Victor Lafay went off the front of the peloton to snaffle up 15 green jersey points at the intermediate sprint at Deba.

He is about a minute behind the front two, but 90 seconds clear of the pack, although I think he will wait for them.

    134km to go

We will cross the border into France with just over 50km of today's stage to go, but for now the Tour de France is still in Spain.

So far today, we've seen some familiar sights from the first two days of the race through Basque Country - huge crowds, loads of flags and stunning scenery. The sun is out today too, for now...

    141km to go

Neilson Powless spent most of stage two out in a break collecting mountain points and he is doing the same again today.

The EF Education-EasyPost rider started the stage in the polka dot jersey and he is now guaranteed to keep it until Wednesday's stage five after taking three more points on the first two climbs of the day.

On Sunday, Powless was part of a trio that escaped early on - this time he only has veteran Frenchman Laurent Pichon for company.

They went clear in the first 10km of this 187.4km stage and are currently two minutes and 27 seconds away from the main peloton.

  4. Where are we?published at 13:33 British Summer Time 3 July 2023

Good question. We're still in Basque Country but crossing the border from Spain into France.

There are a few bumps in the road before we get there, but there should be a bunch sprint in Bayonne shortly after 16:00 BST today.
