Phil Taylor holds his throw to get the first leg on the board in this final.

He takes out double 12 first dart to calm any nerves he may have had.

The Power has had his fair share of beatings by MvG over the last couple of years - something he's not used to.

More from Phil Taylor, who will play Michael van Gerwen in the final shortly: "I've got 20 minutes or so to prepare, Michael's probably had an hour, so it's going to be difficult for me.

"But he's got a game now."

Phil Taylor tells Sky Sports: "The performance was steady. Gary missed a few doubles, and my bottle had gone - I’ll be honest. I just thought 'hang in'.

"I was hitting 140s and 180s and missing darts at doubles. I'm through ugly - that's what it's all about. It's all about winning.

"It's this place - the tournament you're in, you start thinking about where your are, obviously I've not won a lot for a long time, so it's a massive thing for me."

    Phil Taylor 9-7 Gary Anderson

Anderson throws first and it's an average leg by both players, but Taylor strikes to take out 79 and move within one leg of the final.

    Huge from the Power.

  15. Postpublished at 20:36 British Summer Time 19 May 2016

    Phil Taylor 8-7 Gary Anderson

Full steam ahead for the Flying Scotsman. An 11-darter makes it three legs in a row for Anderson, and we're back on throw at 8-7.

  16. Postpublished at 20:35 British Summer Time 19 May 2016

    Phil Taylor 8-6 Gary Anderson

Oh dear, Gary. Twenty-two to start the leg is not what's required. Taylor, as Taylor often does in true Taylor style, stamps all over it with a maximum.

With the Scot way back, Taylor misses, and again, and again...

Suddenly Anderson's on 93 - and takes it out! 8-6 now...

    Phil Taylor 8-5 Gary Anderson

Anderson's starting to get angry at himself here. Too many missed chances at double are costing him.

After a few misses, he gets double two to break the throw and reduce the deficit to three legs.

  19. Postpublished at 20:29 British Summer Time 19 May 2016

    Phil Taylor 8-4 Gary Anderson

Anderson was looking a little off it, but hello - what's this? A timely 180 leaves 57, but he's blown it again! Misses at tops and double 10, and Taylor's back for 32.

No mistake from the Power, he's two legs away from the final.

Taylor back in the groove straight away - a 140 followed by a fifth maximum. Anderson way off.

Anderson for a 161?! Shaves the wire of the bull. Taylor back for 16, which he takes out with his last dart.

The Power in front by three legs for the first time.
