What an unbelievable night for Luke Littler.

Surely he didn't think it would get any better than the World Championship and his fairytale run to the final. Not this quickly anyway.

He'll be pinching himself - and while he does, check out our report here.

    Mark Webster
2008 BDO world champion on ITV4

Luke Littler deserved to win that title, he was fantastic all week.

MVG under-performed in the final and he will be disappointed. He wasn’t 'at it' and Littler was the better player.

Littler is just taking it all in his path. I don’t think anything is going to affect him. He’s headstrong, ambitious – he’s already won a senior title and there’s so many more to come.

His life has changed but he’s got a good team around him and the way he’s playing, he’s going to lift many a title.

  4. 'It's been unbelievable this week'published at 20:13 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January

"I'm happy to win, I played well yesterday and I've played well again tonight.

"No one probably believes me but I've not threw a dart since the world final.

"Michael is one of the very best and I'm happy to win on my debut.

"It's been unbelievable this week and I'm happy to come out as the winner."

  5. 'I'll get him, don't worry!'published at 20:09 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January

    Littler 8-5 Van Gerwen

Runner-up Michael van Gerwen to ITV4:

"It's never going to be a good week when I'm not winning but Luke had a fantastic performance.

"Everyone knows what he is capable of - let him grow, let him do his thing.

"I couldn't produce what I produced in the earlier games and you get punished and that's the way sport works. Of course I'm disappointed but you win some, you lose some.

    "I'll get him, don't worry!"
