    He then comes a whisker away from hitting bull for a 161 checkout but then fails with darts at double eight and double four on his next visit.

    That give Luke Littler the chance to return and hit double top to go 1-0 up.

    Tonight's last quarter-final is another all-Dutch affair as Gian van Veen takes on Danny Noppert.

    Van Veen, 21, shocked world number three Michael Smith in the first round, claiming a 6-3 victory.

    It was one of five wins for Dutch players last night, including four for local players over PDC stars.

    Noppert got things started with an impressive 6-2 win over Nathan Aspinall.

    The world number seven hit four maximums and averaged 95.68 in a dominant showing.

    Two of the most impressive performers from last night face off in tonight's second quarter-final as Wales' Gerwyn Price takes on another Dutch talent, Kevin Doets.

    Doets, 25, averaged just shy of 100 as he saw off world number eight Peter Wright 6-2 last night.

    He hit six 180s to leave the two-time world champion trailing in his wake.

    Price then ousted defending champion Dimitri van den Bergh in a high-quality contest, winning 6-3.

    The 2021 world champ averaged 103.43 and hit 75% of his doubles.

    We've got another big-name match-up in the quarter-finals with a clash of two Dutch heavyweights.

    Three-time world champion Michael van Gerwen takes on Raymond van Barneveld, who has five world titles to his name.

    Barney overcame Rob Cross in a last-leg decider thanks to his superior finishing, much to the delight of the home crowd.

    Meanwhile, MVG enjoyed a comfortable 6-1 win over his close friend Vincent van der Voort in Friday's last match.

    It was plain sailing for both World Championship finalists in the first round last night.

    Luke Littler was up first and cruised to a 6-2 win over Dutchman Dirk van Duijvenbode.

    "I'm happy with the way I played," Littler told ITV. "I'm happy with my scoring and my finishing.

    "In practice nothing was going, but I've always said that I always feel like I throw well on stage. I'm just glad I can have a bad practice but produce onstage."

    In the next match, Luke Humphries thrashed Jermaine Wattimena 6-0 to set up tonight's standout quarter-final.
