A maximum for Luke Humphries, just his second of the match and first since his opening visit of the match.

That is enough to give him a cushion and he hits double four to go back in front.

  2. Humphries hits backpublished at 21:08 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February

    Luke Humphries 3-3 Peter Wright

Luke Humphries breaks back immediately after a pretty scruffy leg from both players.

The world champion comes back to hit double five and level it up but neither player is looking particularly in rhythm.

It seems like Luke has been outscoring Peter, and yet Peter has had more darts at a double.

    It's an odd game.

Peter Wright has not been at it but, somehow, he is a break up.

We've been concerned about Peter Wright's form but he's gone on to win events.

But it's tough to go into the Premier League and have 70% of your form. In periods you have to play your very best, and if you're not playing at your very best, you need to be average to above average for you.

  9. Humphries holds with easepublished at 20:57 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February

    Luke Humphries 1-0 Peter Wright

Luke Humphries takes out double 16 for the first leg.

A very comfortable hold for the world champ with Peter Wright starting slowly.

Luke Humphries not at his best since becoming world champion? Well, he's started with a 180 tonight so that might be about to change.

    Luke Humphries v Peter Wright

For a moment it looks like we're going to get a pretty low-key entrance from Peter Wright but he thinks better of it and does his usual bouncing across the stage to gee up the crowd.

A smile then spreads across Luke Humphries' face as he is announced as the world champion. Fair enough, I think we'd all smile hearing that if it were us!

We're just a few moments away from the last quarter-final of the evening.

World champion Luke Humphries has struggled to rediscover his best form since his victory at Alexandra Palace at the start of January.

The world number one was beaten by Luke Littler in the quarter-finals in Cardiff last week and has not progressed further than the last eight in three other tournaments since the World Championship, losing to eventual winner Stephen Bunting in the last 16 at the Masters last weekend.

It has been a similar story for Peter Wright, who was thrashed by Bunting in the quarter-finals at the Masters.

He was beaten by Rob Cross in the quarters last week and has not been at his best since winning the European Championships last October.

Result: Luke Littler 6-5 Rob Cross

Luke Littler ends with an average of 104.20 with three 180s to Rob Cross' two.

He also hit with six of his 13 darts at double.

An impressive showing from the teenager and it needed to be. Cross pushed him all the way.

Result: Luke Littler 6-5 Rob Cross

Luke Littler is through to the semi-finals!

A poor first visit leaves Rob Cross a long way back and he can't recover.

A bounce out denies Littler a chance to take out 150 for the match but he is back on his next visit, hits double 15 and the 17-year-old advances.

    Another superb match.

  15. Cross sends it to a deciderpublished at 20:42 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February

    Luke Littler 5-5 Rob Cross

Luke Littler is nowhere close as Rob Cross lines up a double 18 for the leg.

He misses but is back for double four. Misses again. Five darts at double missed.

Littler is now within sight but Cross hits double two.

    Luke Littler 5-4 Rob Cross

He missed three darts at double but when Rob Cross can't get the 167 checkout, Luke Littler comes back to him with double 10.

He's a leg away from the semi-final. But Cross has the darts in leg 10.

  18. 144 checkout for Crosspublished at 20:37 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February

    Luke Littler 4-4 Rob Cross

    Fantastic from Rob Cross.

He takes out 144 in fine style. Two treble 18s and then the double 18.

Cross has hit four of sixes darts at double and we're all square again.

    Luke Littler 4-3 Rob Cross

After losing a couple of legs, Luke Littler responds superbly.

A brilliant set up leaves him needing tops and he gets it at the second attempt for an 11-dart hold.

This one could still go either way.

Rob Cross levels it up after a 68 checkout.

Again, he is left with just one dart at a double with Luke Littler on a finish but Cross finds the double 18 he needs.

We've got another high-class match on our hands in Germany.
