Their flagbearer is sailor John Twomey, who found out six weeks ago that he would be carrying the flag. "I was delighted, honoured, thrilled. It's lovely to be honoured by your own," he said.

23:28 BST 7 September 2016America now, led by cyclist Allison Jones. Somewhere in there is Tatyana McFadden, who was adopted at the age of six from a Russian orphanage after being born with spina bifida.
She'll be going for seven gold medals on the track and the marathon in Rio.

Although they appeared at the Olympics, the International Paralympic Committee applied a blanket ban, which Russia unsuccesfully appealed.
They've opted to hold their own games, with the All-Russian Paralympic Contest kicking off in Moscow.
