  1. Duo pick up awardpublished at 01:06 British Summer Time 19 September 2016

American Tatyana McFadden, who won four gold medals in the athletics, and Syrian-born Ibrahim Al Hussein, one of the independent Paralympic athletes, are both awarded the prestigious Whang Youn Dai award.

The award is a symbol of the Paralympics since 1988, when in Seoul Whang Youn Dai was honoured for the first time.

She dedicated her life to help disabled people to overcome their challenges, reinforcing the values of sports and human rights.

The intention is to celebrate two heroes, always a man and a woman, who put into motion the Paralympic spirit and the energy to overcome obstacles.

And here is Kadeena Cox proudly holding the Great Britain flag at the closing ceremony.

Here are some more quotes from her as well, this time talking about her four medals, which consisted of two golds, one silver and one bronze.

"I'm pretty overwhelmed. It hasn't really sunk in yet," she said before tonight's closing ceremony. "When I get home and think about it I'll realise what I've done.

"I've done what I set out to do, and I'm amazed that I did it."

Asked what she expects when she goes home, she added: "My family have been extra quiet on it. They keep asking what I'm doing on certain days so I think something is going on."

  5. Hurricane Hannah storms to three goldspublished at 00:53 British Summer Time 19 September 2016

Hannah Cockroft was a sprinting queen in London with the 100m and 200m Paralympic titles attached to her name.

The 100m title in Rio was never in doubt as she won with a new Paralympic record of 17.43 seconds.

But the biggest challenge was the longer distances of 400m and 800m, and she collected those golds too with new records set in both events.

The Paralympic flame shines brightly as local performers entertain the crowd, a large number of whom have made a multi-national conga and are dancing around the arena.

It is a great sight. And looks so much fun.

  11. Sascha's golden swansongpublished at 00:35 British Summer Time 19 September 2016

It was one of the most emotional moments of the Games.

Great Britain's Sascha Kindred thought about retirement after London 2012 after only coming away with a silver.

But his decision to stay on for Rio was worth it as he finished on top of the podium with his seventh Paralympic gold medal and a world record next to his name.

That will look good on the mantle at home next to the other 38 medals he's won across all the major championships after 22 years of swimming.

Not bad for a 38-year-old, right?

The stadium lights go green, as once again the Brazilian flag walks through the stadium, to the loudest cheer of the night so far.

Ricardinho, who scored the winning goal yesterday as Brazil won five-a-side football gold, has the privilege of holding the Brazilian flag.

This is what he said when he found out he had the job: "They told me I would be flag bearer. I became so excited and I want to be a good representative of the delegation.

"I was so surprised. It is completely unexpected and a unique moment in my life."

Asked if his family will watch on television, he joked: "For sure, afterwards I will phone them and ask 'was I handsome?'."

What a moment for Kadeena Cox. With her team-mates cheering her on she is a proud lady as she holds the British flag during the closing ceremony.

One entrant from each of the nations that competed is walking through the assembled competitors, proudly waving their flags, trying not to get emotional. Not everyone is totally successful at that.

Jonnie Peacock didn't have the smoothest road to Rio but athletes are often remembered for their triumphs in the most difficult of circumstances.

Peacock missed most of the 2015 season through injury and illness.

Many weren't sure he would retain his T44 100m title. But he did in a new Paralympic record time of 10.81 seconds.

And just look at what it meant to him.

A group of soldiers have just walked out holding the Brazilian flag, and Kadeena Cox has the honour of being the British flagbearer.

She is understandably delighted with the honour.

She said: "It's an amazing feeling, just because we had such an amazing Games and so many good performances.

"To be chosen out of all those, it makes me feel so special and I'm so grateful for the opportunity."

A heavy metal band gets the crowd going and a talented musician joins them, playing the guitar with his feet, before a gymnast gets up from his wheelchair and starts to perform a hand stand.

The Maracana is going to be one fun place for the next few hours. It is the hottest ticket in town.
