"The two "speakers" - or should that be "shouters" - for each Champions League Final club are currently attempting to inject atmosphere at Lisbon's Stadium of Light. Not really required as Atletico and Real fans can do that job perfectly well.

"Big call for Real coach Carlo Ancelotti to start Sami Khedira in midfield after he sustained a serious knee ligament injury in November. He has only played for an hour in six months.

"For Atletico, meanwhile, it looks like the horse placenta has done the trick and Diego Costa starts after his hamstring injury."

After 60-odd games and with a World Cup on the horizon, it's perhaps no surprise that both sides come into tonight's game with injury concerns over key players.

Real's talisman Cristiano Ronaldo has not played for 17 days with a muscle injury but has been declared fit, while striker Karim Benzema is the latest doubt with an abductor injury. Defender Pepe is also struggling.

Atletico are hopeful that their main goal threat Diego Costa will be fit after some novel treatment.

The striker has been treated in Belgrade using horse placenta after tearing a hamstring during last weekend's 1-1 draw with Barcelona, with Arda Turan injuring a hip in the same game.
