Kesh, London: What a tackle from Valon Behrami! And two assists from Ricardo Rodriguez, there aren't many better left-backs. Absolutely buzzing!

Ottmar Hitzfeld - you wily old dog. The veteran Swiss coach, who is calling it a day after the tournament, switched his men around at the break, with a further tweak of personnel after 75 minutes. And he was rewarded by each of his substitutes, Admir Mehmedi and Haris Seferovic, swinging the match in his team's favour.

"We spoke about how well the referee handled this game. For a change we are praising referees. He let play go on when Valon Behrami was whacked down.

"He said play on and it was a wonderful finish. It is harsh on Ecuador but there is no place for complacency in football. Switzerland got the sucker-punch. You can see the Ecuador fans, they look devastated."

Danny:, external The advantage the referee just played is the best bit of officiating this World Cup has seen yet.

Aurelien:, external It's fast, counter attacking football galore at this World Cup! Love it!

Phil:, external So next up France. Are they going to do that highly amusing meltdown thing again? Fingers crossed.

While Haris Seferovic grabs all the headlines for bagging the winner, all credit must go to ex-West Ham man Valeron Behrami. The Switzerland midfielder saved his team with a last-ditch tackle as Ecuador looked to nick a winner, before starting the attack which ended in Seferovic burying in the decisive goal. Oh, and Behrami almost got taken out by a flailing Ecuadorian tackle. Superb tenacity.

    Switzerland celebrate

"Fantastic break from Switzerland. They have nicked it right at the death and it is cruel on Ecuador. They have given everything. The Ecuador player in the box should have got his shot away, Valencia gave it to him in the last minute. Switzerland then broke and Haris Seferovic does everything you tell a young striker to do and he is picked out brilliantly and smashes it home."

Steve Cohen:, external Now that's what I call end to end football!

Colin:, external Brilliant from Valon Behrami, well done son. Cracking end to the game.

Matthew:, external This is the World Cup that just keeps giving!

And the South Americans barely have time to restart the match. The referee toots his full-time whistle seconds after Seferovic's goal to spark wild celebrations among the Swiss.

Unbelievable scenes as Switzerland grab what must be a last-gasp winner! Ecuador almost nick it at the other end, before the Swiss hit them with a lightning-quick sucker punch. Substitute Haris Seferovic arrives in perfect time to thump in a dramatic winner. Heartbreak for Ecuador.

"That free-kick took a bit deflection but ended up going straight at the Switzerland goalkeeper. If it had deflected either side of him it was a goal.

"However, Switzerland have been a lot better in the second half, having come from a goal behind. Yes, they perhaps would have fancied a win coming into this game but on the balance of play I think both managers would be not unhappy with 1-1."

Another nervous moment for Switzerland as they concede another free-kick, this time just 25 yards from their goal. Ecuador winger Antonio Valencia steps up and his strike breaks through the flimsy Swiss wall, forcing Diego Benaglio into a reaction save. Can anyone force a late winner? Less than five to go.

Johan Djourou looks a picture of innocence as he cheekily trips Ecuador striker Enner Valencia, who tries to race on to a long punt forward. No fooling the referee though, Johan. You're going in the book. Any closer to the Swiss goal - it was about 40 yards from goal - then the card could have been red.

"It is is tight and we really can't call this. Credit to the players because it is blistering heat but they are still giving everything."

Wasted. After a long Swiss pow-wow over the ball, Xherdan Shaqiri pulls rank to take the free-kick, but can only thump it straight into the Ecuadorian wall. More shoddy set-piece action from the Bayern Munich man.

Golden opportunity for Switzerland to snatch it. A wild lunge from Ecuador midfielder Cristhian Noboa on Xherdan Shaqiri gives the Swiss a free-kick about 25 yards out in a central position.

Mark:, external There appears to be a huge haul of odd boots that have been flogged to players at this World Cup.

Steve:, external Sad to see so many empty seats at this game. Not an isolated incident either from what I've seen at this tournament.

Chris:, external I think that second place behind France in Group E will be whichever of these two beat Honduras by more goals.

  20. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 18:35 British Summer Time 15 June 2014

A flurry of substitutions as both coaches try to grab a winner heading into the last 15 minutes. Switzerland striker Haris Seferovic - who outshone the likes of Neymar and Mario Gotze at the Under-17 World Cup in 2009 - replaces Josip Drmic up top. And Ecuador, rather surprisingly, hook the lively Jefferson Montero, with Joao Rojas getting a piece of the action.
